Ranks with the 3-3 from 3-0 down at the Dell all those years back. Went more direct 2nd half to counter their midfield pressing style. Worked wonderfully well.

Saints passing is really pretty average. Giving the ball away in midfield far too much.

Hmm. Penalty for me. Ref would have given that 100/100 if outside the area. I reckon he was too far away and the big club gets the benefit as usual.

All Liverpool have to do is wait for Saints to give the ball away in midfield and then attack 2 on 2. Simple.

Too easy for Liverpool.

Saints just let Coutinho amble towards the penalty area and fire in a shot. Not like he's never done that before.

Can't imagine why Tadic didn't slot that easy chance home.

Do they spend the week beating the confidence out of the players or something? Good effort to get something out of that in the end but not a very satisfactory performance overall.

That was just so obvious. Saints on another awful run.

Awful game. Saints unable to develop anything up front at all.

Another great result. This is all down to me though. Couldn't follow the game on Boxing Day when Saints won 4-0 so I've deliberately and unselfishly avoided following the last 3 games live as well. Result 3 wins and no goals conceded. Saints should be paying me for my painstaking work.

Lacking in fitness?

Groan! But who wasn't expecting it?

I'll say it again. Saints don't look fit enough. Virtually nothing as an attacking force at all.

Saints have been awful as an attacking force right through 2015. Looks like 2016 is going to see little change.

In the end, well, yes it is if it happens time after time. If Saints were scoring for fun each game then RK would rightfully be getting praised. The lack of clinical finishing has been a problem for many months and precedes this season. It's problem number one.

Just for a change the officials gave us a chance in that game. Occasionally Saints convert some chances ... all in one game and that was one of them. Then they proceed to miss a score in others. Consider goals conceded towards the end of each half. Also consider the poor shooting. Fitness.

Arsenal was a one off. Too many times Saints players don't last the game. Great stuff first half but still often second to the ball. It's been plain for months. Close your eyes if you like.

Fitness is lacking. Great first half with the pressing but, as usual, missed loads of chances ... and then the inevitable.

Saints fitness levels really aren't right at all. Second to so many balls.

Lamentable. Saints certainly looking like relegation candidates is this game.
