  1. Freak win coming up tonight, followed up by three points at Villa and it will be all good in the da hood from here on.
  2. Well he’d be better than Starmer in no. 10
  3. I know, they’ll bring good support. But I’d have loved Pompey at home or a decent away day, ideally somewhere we don’t normally get to see.
  4. You could always try being the bigger man and stop reacting?
  5. Russ came to the away end, just before kick off, to salute the fans. I’ve not seen him do that before and I’ve been to quite a few away games this season.
  6. He probably isn’t crap, I just don’t think we need another uppity player in our position. Cornet, he is a proven player, is he fit, is he confident? I wouldn’t judge him on the Stoke performance. Apart from a few shoe-ins, the others just don’t get a run. It must be extremely difficult making the odd cameo and feeling you have to set the world alight to get another go, that is extreme pressure.
  7. I’d like to see him get some consistent game time, in his preferred position before I write him off. It’s been tough for him, played as a winger, dropped, probably lost form, fitness and confidence. He was probably trying too hard to seize his rare opportunity last night.
  8. Gio, let’s assume Martin isn’t the worst premier league manager, ever. Just for a minute. There is no possibility of levelling the football playing field by introducing a revolutionary style. If there was, it would be sussed out very quickly, the bigger and better clubs, with better players and managers would work it out after a couple of games and render itv ineffective. I don’t care about breaking throats glass ceiling, I don’t want to attract an additional 20k of glory hunting fans and tourists, it’s not us. We are a small town club, we have little or no potential to get bigger and sustain it any more than any club like us from a city our size. Until SR took over we have historically punched above our weight just by surviving in the top flight and bloodying a few noses along the way. I don’t want any more than we had under Strachan, Poch and Koeman. We could do that with a decent owner and manager (whole footballing setup). This increasingly looks unlikely with SR’s current set and the absolute chancer of a manager.
  9. Thats a very good point, obvious now you say it, but what would be the point of spending a single penny. We could have sold every player with a tangible value and played the U23’s which would have achieved only slightly worse points total.
  10. I think it’s simply a case of “rabbits I the headlights”, they just don’t know what course of action to take. SR lost two successive directors of football, it seems now the biggest error was in not replacing Wilcox as a matter of urgency. From what I can see there is no meaningful footballing knowledge above Martin’s, which is possibly why they are buying his line that it will all click and come good. I don’t believe for a minute they are happy with the romanticised concept of relegation and returning stronger that seems to be a view held by some on here.
  11. You could say that, if you haven’t watched us play. So, Manning’s goal against Wolves was wrongly disallowed, from there on we didn’t manage a single shot at goal. Individual errors, yes there have been a few. Tactical errors, selection errors, substitution errors, in game management errors, defensive set piece errors etc happen every game. I honestly think there is no defending the guy.
  12. I’ve seen a couple of references to Martin arguing with the fans, I’ve missed this, what has occurred?
  13. @Farmer Saint This is the Russel Martin thread. You yourself have stated, I’m sure, that he needs to go. He is a terrible manager. He needs to go. It’s probably too late but he needs to go, as does Rasmus, he is knee deep in this and I think I speak for a lot on here when I say we do not want him choosing Martins replacement. Do you agree Martin is a very poor manager and needs to go before further damage is done?
  14. I believe he’s saying ABK has infinitely less influence on our tragic and entirely avoidable demise than the two narcissists in the positions of the greatest influence who are orchestrating said demise. That’s my interpretation
  15. He’d probably blame John Cleese
  16. Look who’s back, Fabrice is back, would the real slim Fabrice please stand up, please stand up…
  17. Seemingly they can, and I reckon they will.
  18. I was going to say tongue, but that would be inappropriate, so I thought it instead
  19. They’ll be back, they are just contriving their next line of attack, each line being more oblique than the previous.
  20. Question is,,who is the donkeys arse, Russ or Rasmus, or does this ass have two arses?
  21. I’m have a strong suspicion that’s why Charlie Taylor has disappeared from the face of the earth. I also thought I saw a bit of petulance from Bednarek up at Wolves, we were fannying around at the back and he appeard to lose it and launch the ball into orbit.
  22. I’d like to know on what basis he is so confident “they’ll be alright” what is experience is he drawing onto support this? He was in unremarkable player playing for an unremarkable team, played international for a team that by necessity has to scour the lower leagues for players. As a manager he was very average in the championship and an unrivalled disaster in the premier league, so, where does this confidence come from? I guess he epitomises arrogance, where your view of yourself is vastly elevated above reality.
  23. I think Liverpool were complacent yesterday and we still managed to gift wrap the points for them.
  24. The slight variation in this scenario is that he’s the rat that will sink the ship. With an honourable mention to Rasmus Rat.
