  1. Daft and rude response. We could field a strong team that have played in derbies or and or internationals, Portsmouth is not the only derby. Anyway, getting way off topic.

  3. I’m not sure he can lead the line in the traditional sense, but my thinking is probably outdated, it should do like a commanding enter forward who can bring others into play, but we haven’t had that since my man-crush Grazziano left, and before that Lambert, I think we’ve really missed that. I really hope it works out for Adams, I think it might take him a while.
  4. Pretty unfair assessment, he was put in a bad position by Bednarek giving him a hospital pass, he then, as happened all day on both flanks he was exposed in a two on one. He looked a bit rusty yesterday, and often very isolated, but I’m ok with his selection. Got to say generally, I’m getting early tired of all this rubbishing of “our” players.
  5. Not saying I don’t believe you, but how do you know this?
  6. I don’t think we have the personnel to play that style, we seem to have a predominately mid sized mid paced and mild mannered squad, in short very average. I could see that style working with West Ham or Palace with their bigger, more powerful and quicker players. I’m not really sure what style would suit us.
  7. And I’d have to agree with him
  8. Hope not, his first thought is always forward and he likes to get stuck in, Id like to see him get a run.
  9. Where are you getting these statistics from?

  11. oh no it wouldn't
  12. Our best chance of not getting beaten is to just apply the first two words of your statement.
  13. Pretty brilliant! disclaimer... this only applies if you thought it up yourself!
  14. Mine haven’t arrived, had ordered two season tickets in the family section, unbeknown to me the first two games in our seats had “previously” been sold, I’m not convinced, i think they were probably subsequently sold, so, no tickets for Saturday, but I do have two for Man U. I’m assured the Liverpool tickets are on the way, bu no season tickets until after the first two games.
  15. Had a call today, they are in a right mess. I don’t know if outsourcing season ticket sales has contributed?

Never going to happen, didn’t fit the age profile and wage demands too high!
  17. I don't understand that bit about "4 at the back with the players we have", it often gets said, but Bednarek and Yoshida with an additional DM protecting wouldn't be worse than what we have, would it? I'm not expert tactician but I can see where 3 CB's can either end up occupying the same space or no one occupying it / picking up runs as opposed to two.
  18. On Fridays showing Norwich would cause us problems, Brighton are not a bad side, just lost their way under Houghton in the second half of last season and have brought a few in over the summer. Sheffield United are an unknown quantity. Burnley are always a handful, a bit like the old Bolton under Sam. I was blindly optimistic before the weekend, but have since faded badly. But will all be right again if we get something from Liverpool.
  19. I do not get the obsession with young players, centre backs are often very good into the mid 30’s, it’s one position you need some maturity.
  20. Why am I always full of blind optimism before the start of the season. I really should have learned.
  21. I confess I cannot substantiate that comment, and can offer no conclusion as to which end of the sheep, if any, it was.
  22. Too right, I can't believe the other 50% of sheep actually wanted to remain.
  23. Well I enjoy reading your posts, do carry on old chap.
