  1. What has Downs done to warrant selection for today’s match? Rhetorical question really as it’s absolutely nothing. Was Still told to play him because we paid a lot for him?
  2. I don’t think we are going to get 100 points, just a hunch really. So I shall revise the points total down to what is required for sixth place playoff and do a similar rrr for a minimum points required calculation to avoid relegation.
  3. Shove it up your arse Ally, this day has cost me around £200 and a 14 hour round trip.
  4. We are far too progressive for something like that.
  5. Well done Spors, you clearly didn’t do any research on what is required for the championship.
  6. We haven’t, not for the English leagues
  7. Six and a half hours on a coach to watch this shite.
  8. Is Aribo coming back into the squad? I’m not his biggest fan, he blows too hot and cold for me, but I did think he would have been good to have on the pitch against Pompey.
  9. We’ll have to cut you a bit of slack for your curmudgeonliness in that case.
  10. It’s a moot point, we have to start racking up wins. At this point nobody really knows which way it’s going to go. Beat Hull and Middlesbrough and the world will look completely different.
  11. If you could somehow guarantee a playoff final win at Wembley I’d take it, probably my best day ever following Saints.
  12. That ceased in 1896, let’s say you were ten when you first went. That makes you 138 years old, at least. I can’t see anyone beating that anytime soon. Congratulations
  13. Maybe no pathway to £20k per week. In this world of football hyperinflation lunacy you have to remind yourself that £20k per week is absolutely phenomenal money. More than one million per year. He can earn in 3 weeks what the average person earns in a year. Two or three years of that, invest the spare cash well and you are set for life. I guess it depends on whether your ambition is to be wealthy in its own right or be at the top. I can see why someone would plump for the money in the uncertain high risk world of professional sport, especially a contact sport.
  14. I was hoping for the autos this year, and I don't think that was an unrealistic aspiration following relegation. However, recent events have made me less than confident. Leeds and Burnley were promoted with 100 point last season. So, we have played 5 and have 6 points from a possible 18, a points rate 1.2 per game. If we are to achieve automatic promotion based on last years points requirement we need to secure 94 points from our "remaining" 41 games, therefore a points return of 2.3 per game is required, or putting it simply we need to win 32 of those games. I know there are many variables at play, and I realise its early days, but my concern is if we don't find a way, and very quickly, of winning games and stringing wins together we are going to be in the lottery of the playoffs, at best. Maybe my hopes were over optimistic and the reality is we have to settle for a season of rebuilding and consolidation. I just hope we are not here for too long as it becomes a much steeper mountain to climb after 2 years. I know some fans prefer the championship and I understand the reasons, but the longer a team is there the weaker they generally become.
  15. Tummy ache?
  16. I think Archer could be good, but only if we create a bit of havoc in and around the box, but we don’t, such ponderous build up play we end up trying to pick our way through packed penalty areas.
  17. I thought they took the game to us, definitely in the first half, they had better chances later in the second half.
  18. He stole my shtick
  19. Outthought and outfought
  20. As Strachan used to say, you have to earn the right to play football, we aren’t doing the tough stuff. Pompey are, they are playing the way we should have in the prem, bring teams down a notch by outworking them.
  21. Gonna be a long season
  22. Well Pompey haven’t scored whilst being in top, so plenty of time
  23. Maybe it wasn’t the day to change?
  24. That’s the narcissist personality disorder exemplified
