I think we will do well today, Russ does seem to react to criticism, then we will revert to type.

Not by me, he was unfortunate by association with Nathan Jones. He has also done well when called on this season.

In his case I don’t think it’s personal in the way it is with some players. You can’t criticise his commitment or application. I think people are genuinely perplexed as to why we bought him and why he gets picked over a better all round player.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with the current trend to laud our "success" in contrast to last seasons performances. Just to be clear, we are a whole league lower than last season, this league is not just a league lower, its pretty much a Richter Scale like difference between the premier league and the championship. We have a lot of premier league standard players and are arguably one of the powerhouses, or should be, of this league. A lot of teams we come up against are absolute dross. So if you are happy with this "unbeaten run" credit to you. I am not, we are massively underperforming in my opinion and have been very unconvincing during this run. The play offs are a lottery, we are by no means certain of achieving promotion via that route.

I’d dispute we are playing that well. I think the possession style creates an illusion of playing well.

That’s entirely possible, Russ has done this before after a run of unsatisfactory results/ performances. We will put on an exiting display. Win well, then he will revert to Russball because he is so firmly wedded to it and the whole process will repeat.
