  1. Only speculation, but there were two factors I had considered at the time, one was he may have been shaken by the whole Abramovich / sanctions issues which coincided with his dip, also the team were became woeful around the same time, (Villa awy 0- 4) the service was non existent, that would demoralise any striker.
  2. Needs its own forum section really
  3. I'll be "gutted" if we don't get him, he is the best player I had never heard of until yesterday, ever. If we don't make this happen I want everyone sacked, even Sammy Saint.
  4. No "could be" about it, i feel I have had 1 minute of my life stolen from me.
  5. I wonder if he still drives the Pontiac Firebird, always envied his lifestyle?
  6. Good, he needs that. I sat behind him a few times last season and he looked completely lost and forlorn when things were going horribly wrong.
  7. PTSD! I still think Chelsea last season was worse in many ways.
  8. Because he is not the manager of those sides? Maybe those coaches have applied it properly and adapt it as required? Maybe Ralph ball cannot cut it in the premier league?
  9. I’d definitely be ok with only one source of income in Ralph’s position. In fact a month or two of Ralph’s income would give most of us a comfortable life.
  10. He’d never get through our goody two shoes, Boy Scout, mother Theresa screening process
  11. I don't see it that way, what I am saying is he would have far more credibility if the wins and losses were spread out more evenly. There are always going to be good runs and bad runs, but his are far too extreme. In one sense the points gained kept us up, yes. But my view its Russian roulette.
  12. I agree that tomorrows result tells us nothing at all, but i disagree there is still credit in the bank for something that happened 6 months ago, when you look at what has happened in the period since. I believe he should have been shown the door before the end, or at the end of last season, but right now I am completely unsure what is best. But we are file, a good performance tomorrow will change the mood drastically.
  13. I don't think he's done a respectable job, I'd feel differently if he'd amassed the points regularly and consistently over a season, we didn't have horror runs and absolute tonkings from time to time. Not to mention formations and substitutions and the rest that has been discussed to death. Alos last season's horror run is still ongoing.
  14. Next in line will be the next clutch of players we bought in who had potential, that we are hoping to flip, that don't reach their potential or regress.
  15. Maybe they are talking about an arranged marriage?
  16. Why? You see a threat to your short career in that you may not get back to the top league when relegated, you are a striker that feeds of scraps, a midfielder who has to run until blood comes out your lungs or you are defender made to look foolish when the high press inevitably breaks down and you are overwhelmed by attackers. Players played out of position, players frozen out ….. It can’t be fun
  17. Take your point but I think it would be really harsh to execute him, I mean, this is Southampton not South America, we need to maintain a modicum of fair play.
  18. No, its called freedom of expression, its enshrined in law. What do you think should be on the ticket, shut up and suck it up? Go to work and contemplate how fortunate you are to watch someone who earns in a week what you earn in a year or two years underperform in job you would do for nothing? There are laws in place when abuse crosses the legal boundaries, but frustration expressed in the street , ground, pub, fans forum etc is quite legitimate in my view. .
  19. Same hymn sheet as Semmens then…
  20. *Hollywood **Oblate spheroid
  21. I know what you are saying, but yes, as a professional "anything", you would, maybe even harder as you wouldn't want your reputation diminished in the wider industry, whatever that may be.
  22. I think that depends on the manner in which we are losing, we know this season is going to be a struggle, but weird team selections, chaotic play and a lack of effort could definitely get a negative reaction (see Spurs last week fr reference).
  23. Transcript from last night, all Semmens confirms is he will not go on loan. “I understand the question but 90 per cent of what you see in the media is not true,” Semmens responded. “The fact that Everton are trying to take our striker on loan or something is not real, it won’t happen, don’t worry about that. “From our perspective we are massively comfortable with everyone we bring in, with everyone who is here and we look forward to working with them. “We will always do what is right and if somebody leaves it will be for the right reasons,” he added. “I wouldn’t get too worried about an agent, Sky Sports or Twitter, that’s why most of our signings you haven’t heard of – so that one isn’t true, don’t worry.”
  24. You could be right, but I've a horrible and growing feeling that he is now only part of the problem.
  25. Cant be us, it didn't go in!
