I am not doing this for me, I am doing it for my Grandad. I just want him to be proud of me....wherever he may be, I just want him to look down from his cloud and say 'yes, that's my boy' and smile from one Polish ear to the other. He fought for THIS country ffs, he fought so that mere mortals as you and I would one day be able to sit here on our lazy arses throwing turds at each other. Wladislaw Drabik, take a bow.

I remember my Garndad (the Polish one) giving me one of his 'lessons in life' chats many years ago, whilst we walked through Home Wood. 'hamster (jnr)' he said 'there comes a day in every man's life when he has to poke his head above the parapet and dodge the bullets' 'at Monte Casino, I knew that it was my time and I knew that I was that man. When the time comes you must not hesitate, you must not quake, you must stand tall, puff out your chest and raise your head high. This you must do for the greater good. When the time comes you will know, you will not need to pushed forward from the ranks and theire will not be time for those who depend on you to ask for volunterrs. You will know hamster (jnr) and you will do your duty. When that day comes, you will become a man.' I stood stunned that this man who I had respected from the first day he held me in his strong arms was talking to me like this, previously all we had ever spoke about was football - Saints in particular. I obviously took it in but not until half an hour ago did I realise what exactly he was talking about. I believe that NOW is MY moment and I should raise my head above the parapet and face those bullets. I know that I will be standing on the shoulders of giants, but I ain't never been scared of giants. I would find it both an honour and a priviledge to accept the position of mooderator on SWF. I have no hidden agenda but I will (if succesful) be lobbying for a 100% increase in the subsciption charge. This site needs to improve and I believe that it the first step on this road is to make it more professionallly run. thanks you for your time hamster

There are a couple of safe car parks not 5 minutes from the ground for those driving. Only recomended if you're getting there *early('ish) and ideal if you are up for blocking each other in. PM for map location. *1 hour + from KO.

tp, these 'borders', ask yourself who created them in the first place? They are almost definitely other people's borders that you have either CHOSEN to adopt or have been brainwashed into accepting. Well done fella, you have reached a pivotal point in your development and have a choice to make. Kick back and have a long hard think about where YOUR borders are (if any at all) and make the decision to enjoy the rest of your life no matter what it throws at you. Most impostantly of all, don't thjink about stuff too much. Good post btw. hamster

Message from mrs h: "Gillingham may be a ****ing ****-hole.... but it's my ****ing ****-hole" I reckon this will end up as unreseved seating on arrival. As has been said already, not a massive choice of away friendly pubs and I'd expect the local police to have a pretty strict escort straight to the ground down Balmoral Road and into the Gillingham End (home end is The Rainham End btw). For those driving I'd certainly recomend The Honourable Pilot on Watling Street, especially for those wanting to stay overnight. On previous trips The Livingstone Arms at Livingstone Circus has welcomed away fans, but I would be surprised if they did for Saints. Near the station there is The Southern Belle, but again it's not always open to visiting fans who bring large numbers. btw, avoid the Blues Cafe ...you will not get in. Parking is mostly 'on-street' and hence terrible for big games like thisd one.

I think that the 'do you want travel?' pop up is just a nudge sort of thing, reminding you to book it online if required. If you do then just add the travel option to your shopping basket before you 'checkout'.

A woman I 'knew' many moons ago used to say that given a choice of having her (ex) hubby coming home from the pub and knocking the crap out of her and him having a few joints and ****ging the arse off of her......
