  1. Interesting post SN me old son. i once went to a Wales, it a country full of ... erm.... ...Wales people..
  2. That's quite decent of them actually imho, decent fans exist in every club. However one cannot help but note that those donating have in ther main ticked the 'Gift Aid' box. This begs the question as to whether the fiddling arseholes at the club have also pocketed the original 'Gift Aid' tax exemption? They should be hung drawn and quartered if they have the disgusting, despicable excuses for huiman beings. I would like to stress that I am of this opinion re any fiddling of charity monies. Dear Mr Taxman, you should be investigating this.
  3. I have lost count of the times that I've requested recomendations for live music over the past couple of years and today is another of those occasions. While I am at it I would like to request that we have a STICKY on the Arts section for live music. It would update itself organically and will also be a good opportunity for people to feedback on groups they've seen. SWF could even 'sell' listings and even negotiate discount entry for PAID UP FULL MEMBERS and hence blag the occasional free tickets to be auctioned or just offered out. Anyhow, whilst the powers that be mull it over; does anyone have any recomendations for mrs h and me for tonight please? Any old crap considered ideally a stagger back from south stoneham/bassett/swaythling. Cheers rat fans
  4. Funny you should ask as on Wednesday I pulled up next to one of these mobile service vans at some lights but they changed before I could get the number - I too am considering getting a few smaller chips sorted. I am however quite confident that I have tracked the bloke down with the aid of Google, I think it's this chap: http://www.look4carcare.co.uk/re-new-mobile-car-body-repairs While on the subject of car paintwork, I am planning on having mine machine polished at the end of the month. The blooming on some of the panels is starting to be really noticeable. I was going to ask if the company will consider some sort of discount for referrals? I'll ppass it on if they agree. By the way, these sort of discounts for referrals is what I will be pushing for if I were to take up a position of influence on the forum. It is the next logical step, well that and an increase in subs.

  7. As the saying goes 'if you remember it you werent there'. twas as you say Stuutgart, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt, though we also went to Hamburg though and another memorable moment was when Shilts got his record breaking appearnce, at full time we were the one voices singing 'Southampton southampton Southampton, and were captured on TV back home sitting heads in hands at the final whistle. In '90 I got married the day we drew 0-0 with Holland and most of the blokes in the room slipped out to watch the match at the Golden Hinde in Twyford Road leaving me to dutifully dance the night away with mrs h. I knew at that moment that my football life would never be the same and iirc took a sabattical from it for the next 5 years or so. Bloody wimmin!
  8. For you B, anytime. hang on though, a minute you say? I'm flattered tbh. Massive

  10. I concur with the OP. Our Moose is still loose aboot the hoose 18 months after making his first appearance. Tried all forms of trap and deterent to no avail and now resigned to just hoovering up his little ****s when they appear. People have warned that they can chew through electrical cables and that is what i am now hoping for.

  12. MB, re the tax rebate, my DIL is an accountant and I offered her 10% to do mine. She laughingly showed me the website and I had it done in about 2 minutes. 10% waived and she does make an excedingly nice Shepherds pie... good girl.

  15. Talk about missing the boat! Mate and I decided to do Euro '88 in Germany and had a whale of a time... Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Hamburg (Riepherbahn ((sp)) was a real eye-opener at that tender age) and once Engerland had lost the last of their 3 games we headed off to follow the Oirish in the semis (due mainly to a feeble attempt to re-acqauint ourselves with a certain young lady who we'd 'met' in our hotel after they tonked us, never did track her down ;-) ). Ruud Gullit wigs all over the place and taking turns in shopping trolleys through city centres en-route home form numerous bierkellers. An amazing time for us both. Spoiled somewhat by the mass brawls in virtually every town center between English fans and any other nation who fancied pallying up with the local hitler youth, tbh I shat myself on more than one occasion. The final between Holland and Russia was a real spectacle...apparently, I say apparently as we met a couple of American girls who were hitching aroung Europe and took them under our wings so to speak, all four of us ended up semi naked in a fountain until the local ecilops shooed us away, then joined the after match party in some weird beer tent village thingy. Upshot of all this was that we both got hitched the following year and there was no way we trusted ourselves in Italy. Didn't realise what a genuinely decent team we had and perhaps should have gone. Should be noted that the squad in '88 was a team of World beaters on paper which also contributed to our conclusion that England would never produce the goods. Deffo was one of the best times I have ever had ever. NB One night we ended up sleeping in some blokes greenhouse on his allotment and in the morning him and his missus (fraulein) brought us breakfast which included steak and a bottle of schnapps. My friend is half German and without his fluent lingo skills I am convinced that I would have ended up in either a German cell or a german cemetary.

  18. Seriously Mu might well be entitled to a rebate, do it man it's both quick and easy. If you've paid a pro-rata tax for part of the tax year yoB you MUST put in for a tax rebate. A couple of years back i changed jobs to a lower paid one and got a few hundred nicker for my troubles.
