  1. On many occasions I have had a 'native' cabbie who only starts chatting when approaching the destiantion. Converesly on nearly every occasion I have had a ride with a driver who's English language skills are not quite up to BBS standard they want to chat about all sorts, interesting and amusing tales and before I know it we are there. Mnay years ago it was de rigou=r for indian migrants to drive buses, without repeating them, there were many racist jokes about this phenomena. Sadly in many ways a mjority of bus drivers nowadays are white 'british' who are in the main rude, obnoxious and unhelpful. Uni-Link is without exception and exception to this rule though. Anyway, I tend to find that when you look for negatives in people you will find them.
  2. Seriously Keith, if you decide on sanding the floorboards, have a go yourself. Make sure you knock EVERY single nail well down and tape up all doors to the rrom if pracical. Biggest + that we have found, and it took us a while to realise it had happened, was that mrs h's asthma stopped. It didn't ease, it stopped. That Walter Wall has a lot to answer for I tell ya mate. When we next move we're going to sand every room and at the very most have some quality rugs thrown around, just think how much we're gonna save next time she has a decorating fit! And dog **** is easier to mop up from a floorboard than it is a carpet. Win, win.
  3. Beatles fans combine two defining moments in one. Abbey Road and the Dakota building 'incident'. Note how the one playing Mark Chapman has neglected to carry a copy of Catcher In The Rye, possibly as a mark of respect for JD Salinger.

    I Hate N-Dubz

I wish mate. Quiz last night, had to drive so settled for 2 pints of Ringwood Best. I should point out that although I do like Pride I really onky drink the stuff as my local only offers ESB as an alternative. My fave fave right now is probably Timothy Taylor;s 'Landlord' a beautiful glassfull that is like an angel ****ing in your mouth; smooth and chewy yet sweet and bitter at the same time, a little bit nutty and yet safe for people with that modern epidemic the 'nut allergy'. Available at The Chilworth Arms, Chilworth, which is incidentally a great pub for celebrating things that require celebrating. They even sell wine by the LITRE, by the ****ing LITRE, brilliant eh? Timothy taylor's 'Landlord it should be noted is also the favourite ale of uber foster-Mum Madonna.

There are all the goals on that link too iirc. The crowd were good that day, non-stop singing for 90 minutes! Did you not get a DVD? I can run them off if people want copies, obviously with Baj's consent but wouldn;t be any hardship.

I could also possibly score with your right boob Susan, we shall see. Actually woman's football is probably more my level nowadays. On second thoughts and no offence to women footballers but I'm probably not being fair on myself there actually. 45, knackered knees, 25 years smoking (now quit though) and break int a sweat just running a bath, I am probably still better than any woman could even dream of being. Shame really, as I think women miss out on quite a few of the joys of life proper football being right up there with farting the national anthem I'd say.

Are you serious TicTac? Please don't beleieve all the hype and as I said to DP, last year's Forum match was probably the best I have ever played in my life and probably best i leave the glory to someone new. I suppose that I would have to humbly accept that I did basically run the show on that day back in May for the first 25 minutes, but I paid the price unfortunately and got whacked, yeah that's right 'whacked'. Have you watched Cassino Tic-tac? * Might I suggest that the Fleming park kickabout would be a good place to start the search for your match-winners though. *see here: Yup, that is what they resorted to, shameful isn;t it?
  8. I think that anyone who does not speak perfect English (with certain exceptions for Welsh, Oirish and Scotch accents) should have to work in the private care sector. Ideally, wiping people's bottoms, cleaning up sick and lighting resident's fags for them. The residents of said establishments should in turn be grateful that our society values them so mmuch that we pay our taxes to provide this service. It would also be a great introduction to British society, our values and a good lesson in who's country this actually is, they might then be a bit more grateful to us for letting them in in the first place. Most of them are ungrateful buggers, wanting all the decent jobs like driving taxis, wiping up sick and wee and being sworn at, threatened and insulted. Them jobs should be reserved for us Brits imho. When will they ever learn? Oh for clarirification TFIC.
  9. and should be banned from all supermarkets within the SO postcode region. Flip-Flops? What are they all about. Back to the OP, I would go for the natural warmth of sanded floorboards every time. Wood, warm in winter and cool in the summer, nice healthy fresh air circulating through like aircon. Wood, it's good, you know you should.

I am with you on this one KD, I like dem best when the music is weaving, haunting notes pizzicato strings and the rhythm is calling. In fact it can be quite comforting when one is alone in the night as the daylight brings a cool empty silence. Although I is from a generation from yesteryear I can appreciate what the yourh (my future, no less) is saying to me. It's not always waht people is saying in dem words it's what dey is not saying. One of my all time Sick Boys once saises that the art in playing da piano is not the notes dat you hit it is de ones you don;t hit that hold da message. Listen up grandads, listen up good. As I says, N-Dubz is just a voice reaching out in a piercing cry. Word!

I would dearly love to be a sub for the second half, dearly. Plus know a good ref, who may be able to control this tinderbox affair, let me know in plenty of time though.
  13. On the dubject of eggs.. What is the difference between an good egg and a good w a n k? You can beat an egg.....
  14. Are those add on things that update traffic and roadworks expensive? I too am after a new one.

    time!

Warnock - "With Danns he knew that wasn't the right step for him and his career. "We are looking for him to step up and take on the goalscoring duties from Moses now. He is in great form and we play a system to suit him so he can get forward and score." Yeah right Neil.....
  16. would you say he looks hungover?
  17. Our very own (SWF) Mr Murty - On the Late Kick Off show
  18. What do you call it then? It is Warsaw FC, I saw it on Soccer AM. They don't lie about these things.
  19. Just checked and it's "If supporters cannot make the Walsall game, other fixtures can be chosen at the discretion of each supporter." I think we are both right but one of us is more right than the other. Either way it could have been clearer I reckon plus if you are already on the db that imho should have been sufficient. If all goes well the Warsaw game will be well attended anyway.
  20. The way that they are behaving apparently with the PL's blessing, could it be that the PL wardrobe is riddled with skeletons and corruption that runs deeper than any of us can begin to comprehend. Maybe the straightness of Rupert is why he didn;t quite 'fit in' and his tenure was cut short? that might also explain why the FL were so robust when applying their 'rulkes' when the opportunity presented itself?
  21. The second 'linked' game does not have to be the Warsaw one, it say's on the OS it can be a 'game of the customers choosing'.
  22. The Dimbleby lecture on right now is being given by terry Pratchett, himself an Alzheimers sufferer. Worth a watch by anyone remotoely interested in the condition/illness. A ruthless condition that deserves many many more millions thrown at it's treatment and research from the public purse. Not in my own humble opinion, this is FACT.
  23. I understand that the so called 'moveable feast' that is the 4th Thursday in March, by which time a club must enter administartion to get a points deduction applied this season. That's March 25th this year I bleieve.
  24. I would love to go. can you let me know if; it is reserved seating, can I book to 'dine' too, do they sell decent beer, and finally is there a discount room rate for people attending the show?
