No not Robsk Harriet Harman has called Danny Alexander a "Ginger Rodent" Now whilst I don't personally subscribe to name calling being racist, in the politically correct world is this not a form of racism? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-11658228

You better believe it. This is the one part of the story that won't go away. HMRC themselves came up with the offer to Gaydamak to relinquish his claim to 30 million or they would come after the Directors. It matters not for gaydamak in the grand scheme of things, we just wont see him on these shores again, but whatever android comes back with, they will try and scratch underneath the surface and whilst i dont expect they will get close to the full story they will get close enough to go after Storrie and Gaydamak for personal liability. Infact all they have to prove is that the club traded insolvently and others were paid out of line, ahead of them. For all the amusement he provided, i actually feel sorry for storrie. Regardless of who held the purse strings, storrie title and role leave him liable and just one cheque written to another creditor in preference of HMRC and he could be in trouble....... This part of the story will run and run long after they are sold again or liquidated or whatever happens to them. pompey have butt fooked the tax man infront of the eyes of the world, they scrapped through the court case, which was undertaken to send a clear message to football clubs, the next message will be to the directors of those clubs and a certain individual in hayling will be absolutely bricking it.
-
And there you have it. A single sentance / question to sum up 700 pages, 35,000 posts and 1.5 million views. A little disappointed it was one of our fishy friends that got there first, but that is ultimately what this whole thing boils down to.

For those that have doubted Leftback before, here is the perfect test and probably news that will be confirmed (I have no idea if he is right or not) in the next 10 days or so. I stand by my original opinion, he is as close or closer to the action then anyone else on this board. Cortese is his own man and doesn't take any **** (Regardless of whether he is right or wrong) from anyone - I think we can all agree on that. There are many stories on here that paint him (Cortese) in a bad light and many more that haven't even made this message board, but however unpalatable (Or in some cases bizarre) his actions or decisions may have been, i can't help thinking, that maybe, just maybe he is exactly what this club needs right now.... A head strong, bullish, **** the rest of the world type personality, where winning is the only thing that counts and two fingers in the air to anybody that trys to stand in the way. So from someone that thought the removal of the installment plan was an insult to the fans, that the car parking was just a joke, the ticket tax was pure exploitation and getting rid of Pardew was plain stupid. I strangely find myself defending him and thinking we will be just fine under his tenure. We might lose a few friends in football along the way, we may even lose some fans, but the guy is here to win and that's got to be our first priority.

lol... see post above. Regardless of Vat and concessions, the rules still apply.
-
Yes, yes of course there is vat and concessions etc, but whatever the total is they get their share, which would be 50% less the VAT and concessions etc, it would not be the total, minus any cash handouts we gave to homefans on the turnstiles.
-
LOl..... Wakey wakey dune the away team get half of the gate receipts, so if we charged 25 quid, and sold 20,000, they'd get 250k If we decide to hand out a tenner back, thats down to us and that wouldn't come off the gate receipts, they'd still get 250k and we'd be left with 50k Probably not worth putting in the suggestion box.
-
Regardless of what people think of Cortese, he doesn't take any prisoners does he? I think people are slowly getting the message......Don't **** with Don Cortese.
-
I think he will sell it on corp. He has just dropped 100 million quids worth of debt, has secured status over the 18 million he is owed, he has already had 4 million back, so even if he sells it for 10 million that is pure profit and with a guarantee that the parchute payments have his secured debt covered. In less than 4 months, that guy from hull will be in charge.

Gee thanks Toady, but i really wasnt that good

Thats the one Benji recommended and gets a third vote from me. Always very hepful and top top quality.

I was in the same stand , 11 years old and took for granted the passing, pace and passion we played with. I thought that was how all football was played. In many ways we were spolit, but still wouldnt swap those memories for anything.

This one is a bit Tiss like as well (Last goal)

An idea taken from another thread and as someone who grew up in the eighties, watching some great players, I was wondering what they would be worth now? I missed (By in large) Paine, Davies etc, so will leave those who saw them to comment, but i shudder to think what a Channon or a Williams would be worth in todays market. Was Williams a Stevie Gerrard..... 30 / 40 million?? What about players like Phil Boyer, Dave Watson, Ivan Golac, Nick Holmes, Charlie George, they'd all be 4 to 5 million surely? Keegan was the Ronaldo of his generation ....can we say 70 million.
-
I remember meeting Nick once, I was about 10 and to get in the front of the Milton, we used to start queing from about 12.00'ish. He walked past and someone joked had his motor broken down and he laughed and said it actually had and he had to walk to the game. Can't quite see the modern footballer suffering from a broken down car......... I wonder what a Nick Holmes would be worth in today's market?

We can add charities, made up owners amoungst other things but off the bat........ If you take it from the beginning then according to Peter Storrie, the real owner was a convicted arms dealer and wouldn’t have passed the fit and proper test, so put his son in place instead as a front. Cheating. Without remotely being close to affording it, signed as many big names as possible, all on unaffordable contracts, without the slightest hope of ever being able to fulfill them. Cheating. In order to keep some resemblance of cash flow, they elected not to pay HMRC, when the clubs they were competing against were. Cheating. (Allegedly) In order not to have to pay tax on a particular deal they fraudulently circumnavigated the tax man through an offshore account. Cheating. Used unregistered football agents. Cheating Fielded an unregistered player. Cheating Illegally used a convicted lawyer to conduct the clubs business *****il the FA threw him out). Cheating. When the FA gave them grace over the last transfer embargo, they went behind the FA’s back to try and get the agents fees, paid ahead of the other creditors. Cheating. Lied about faulty bank files to try and convince the public they were solvent. Cheating. Amazingly in the same transfer window found two players who had “Just bought out their contracts” and although subject to over 500,000 worth of agents fees and millions of pounds in debt signed them ahead of other clubs, who couldn’t match the wages pompey were offering. Cheating. Whilst in administration, released or loaned out fringe players to bring in better and more experienced players. Cheating…hmm no, just a massive v sign to the FA. Forced other clubs into financial hardship, due to non payment and achieved an advantage by doing so. Cheating. Racked up 120 million pounds worth of debt, whilst the company traded insolvently and continued to increase outgoings. Cheating. Awarded secured creditors CVA voting rights, to ensure the % of the vote needed. Cheating. Promised the creditors that if they signed up to the CVA (And gave the club a chance) they would limit salaries to 10k – broken (Smashed) in their first two signings (Whilst under a transfer embargo). Cheating

The clues in the email address..... Your'e going to get butt fooked

colin this is not true and we dont need to exagerate our position. As detailed in the liquidation report at companies house, both Aviva and Barclays accepted deals significantly lower than the actual debt. What has transpired is that the smaller creditors (And there really werent that many) were paid in full (Kudos to Marcus).

Wilde's Business has been wound up and liquidated by HMRC

Barlcays didnt foreclose on the overdraft, they reduced it, which was something that lowe knew about on his return and we breached the new limit by 100k (.http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4254557.Ex_chairman_blames_bank_for_Saints_position/) The player that we bought in January was a free or loan ( I can't remember), so it was just his wages, so Barclays were powerless to stop lowe bringing him in. As for the dates we went into administration, I don't subscribe to the theory he did it intentionally. However there was an article or quote from Mark Fry (I think) that said they were the ony administrators willing to take us on and the deal had been offered to other administrators, where lowe would have stayed on during the adminstration, but Fry's condition was that all resigned, except Dave Jones. ..... All that means very little outside of the fact that it had obviously be discussed / considered some time before the week in which it happened, which had we pressed the button sooner, would have prevented the minus 10 last season. Additionally Mark Dennis (Of all people) went on air four days before we went in to admin, claiming that the PLC would be put into admin and not the club blah blah blah, so again things were going o for a while before we did the deed. I am happy to live with ******* bad and unfortunate timing, but we only missed the window by a week and perhaps we will never know how crucial that week was. -

No thats not what i am saying at all. I am saying the club put themsleves into administration, not Barclays as you quoted it was. Barclays was obviously the catalyst and the bounced cheque was the final straw for lowe. Had he continued to trade, he could have found himself personally liable. As for the goal posts moving, lowe knew about the enforced overdraft reduction and shouldnt have come back if he couldnt meet those demands. He played chicken and lost (IMO) and by not selling anybody in January and actually adding to the squad, he effectively stuck two fingers up at Barclays. I don't think he thought for one minute that Barclays would bounce any cheques, but as I mention earlier, without that sequence of events, we wouldn't have marcus, so ultimately its a "big cheers rupert" -

Actually its nailed on exactomundo fact -
Given the date of the trial is the middle of may (Unless thath changes in the pleminary hearing in November) it's going to be hard to apply it this season. Of course as long as they are not in a play off place and the deduction wouldnt put them in a relegation place, they will obviosuoly want it for this year, but i think it will be for next season.
-
When would you want the tax points deduction to take place.... after the season finishes or for the following season.
