  1. X10 put together
  2. 33 years watching and he is the worst ive seen,.... and you can include Keith Cassells in that
  3. Art, it s not for a public message board and you ignored the sutble hints.... Davies HAD to leave, without sounding like an ITK wnaker (Which in this and the only time i will be) is absolutely correct. Go and speak to some others. He couldnt stay end of. Phillips..... no idea what you are talking about Ormerod.... still emabarrassed he wore the shirt. Lambert improved yesterday, but is obviously unfit and a shadow of his former self. I love the bloke and want him to get there...but he aint there yet
  4. Almost worth a thread of its own...... oh an not just one ...... Two of the buggers.
  5. I think there is some truth in the "Hark back to the Golden Era" comment and yes, there's always the romantic flashbacks, that embellish the realities, but whatever way you dress it up, THe Dell, was noisy and was hostile....all this from a cute family club. Whatever made it that way (Crammed conditions etc.) is irrelevant. It was everything you say it wasn't and if i could be bothered a couple of mins on Google and I reckon i coudl find quotes from the top players and managers saying the same thing.
  6. Sorry mate, I do understand your point about family club etc, but now you are tying yourself up in knots. The Dell was nosiey and hostile and most teams including the big boys didn't like coming here. At that point in time Saints were absolutely a family club, which ****es on your argument that you cant have both. Everybody wants something different from their football experience..... Take out of it what you want and leave others to do the same.
  7. I'd say we most like a family clu when we were at The Dell and guess what................ away teams hated coming too and felt intimidated playing at
  8. Rob a little trawl back through the thread, suggests that most people thought he should be dropped, but we didnt have anybody to replace him with. I know you dont go very much, but trust me he was / is a shadow of the Lambert we all love. Whilst there was definately an improvement in him today, it is still a very laboured and uninterested Lambert, who isnt close to being fit. Great that he scored from open play, but if you were there today, then cast your mind back to the first minute, which sums up the original post perfectly.
  9. ossie, this really isnt something to be bragging about...... actually it is one of the saddest, most pathetic things, ive seen any football club do. 5 months ....5 ******* months early. I Would imagine those cherries with more than 6 braincells, have worked out why. I wouldnt take the **** out of of Saints to much at the moment, based on the early ticket sale, you might just need a freindly local team, who will play revenue generating friendlies, helpful groundsmen and the odd bucket collector. Your fooked mush
  10. I met a big scunny fan today that knew a few of the players and raved about NA. Not to impressed that I was a Saints fan and (His words) had stolen the most forward thinking manager in the Country. I asked him about what NA was like a a discliparian (Thinking about the Barnard situtaion) and he said that wasn't really his way and after a load of other stuff went on to explain how Adkins conducts half time (Not apparently as a one off, or every now and then, but a set format used for every match) No idea if he uses it down here or infact the Northen monkey really does know some of the players, but thought it was worth sharing 1st Five minutes - Silence. No talking and to be used for reflection on the half 2nd Five minutes - Thoughts and comments of what worked and didn't work in the first half 3rd five minutes - Action points of how to address any issues, make sure everybody understands any changes and tactics for the next half.
  11. You thick skate... Is it really that hard to understand? I find myself feeling sorry for them until i read things like that
  12. From my fag packet maths, chanarai, has his moeny back and some regardless of what league they are in. Obvioulsy if they go up it would be more, but then they woudl also lose tha parachute payments.
  13. andriod speaks;; http://www.footballfanscensus.com/football-industry-news/go/item/800098463/article/portsmouth-takeover-held-up-by-administration Balram Chainrai's long-awaited takeover of Portsmouth is "99.9 per cent" complete, but yet to receive the green light from the Football League, according to administrator Andrew Andronikou. Speaking to Portsmouth News, Andronikou reaffirmed his backing to Hong Kong-based Chainrai's bid for the Championship football club, but acknowledged there has been some irritation at the slow progress of his buyout. "Unfortunately we're now having to wade through the bureaucracy of the Football League," he explained. "We're all rather frustrated at the moment, there's nothing more we can do than wait and hope." Andronikou added that Chainrai has been attempting to meet the criteria of the Football League's updated fit and proper persons test and said the tycoon is the only interested party with the "wherewithal" to take the club forward. Current Leicester City chairman and former Portsmouth chief Milan Mandaric ruled out a return to Fratton Park in an interview with BBC Sport yesterday (October 4th 2010). Attempting to meet the criteria????????????? Strange wording Wait and hope??????????? Not very confident then only interested party with the wherewithal???? andriod, your job is for the best interests of the creditors, nothing else. Someone else is bidding (Come on Tom Lever) and on the assumption that chanarai was simply going to take the reigns for nothing if someone is going to put 5 million on the table , aa and chanarai are in a very difficult position. Thought this thread was going to die, but i think there might be life in the old girl yet
  14. Art, KD's head was screwed, he had to move on and credit to him finding a way back, but he wasnt prepared or in a position to commit to the team in the way that WGS wanted. His performances reflected that and he was of no use to us at all. The best thing for all concerned was to release him. I echo your congratulations and in his earlier Saints days his talent was there for all to see, but your doing the club a diservice if you think he was let down.
  15. We controlled the game and didnt really look threatened with the exception of the opening minute and of course we won, so a good day all round. Indidvidually our players looked pretty good (Although Lambert compared to what we know he can do was poor) but we just don't look like scoring. We did break them down after about 4 mins and it was a great save from their goalie and then defender, but i just cant see goals like we were getting last season and without them, we can forget promotion.
  16. The humans rights issue, is a complete fabrication and doesnt exist with regard to keeping fans in at football, if the police believe there is potential unrest, violence or risk to public safety, they can keep you in.
  17. I am assumming not as there is nothing on the OS, but a truly bizarre thing to do considering half season ticket sales for them could be royally ****ed up, plus they could force fans to less attractive matches by giving them preference with vouchers etc. ...........Unless of course, they are skint again. lifelongcherry and petting zoo's, prepare your business plans. http://www.afcb.co.uk/page/LatestTicketNews/0,,10324~2174114,00.html
  18. Absolutely deserved and earnt. For those that are saying we shouldnt have let he go, he was in a right mess and playing awfullly. It was the right thing for him and the club and all credit to him for turning it around.
  19. Yep and together with Deppo's post, what i thought was a great bit of trivia, is actually a load of ********
  20. I think you are probably right but this is the quote He became the first "foreigner" to appear in a Wembley final when Southampton met Nottingham Forest in the 1979 Football League Cup Final, where the Saints went down 3–2 to the holders, who were also the First Division champions.[7] Unless the others werent played at wembley
  21. Very good - 79. I cant believe that every final prior to that had completly English players..... How times have changed
  22. Who was the first Foreigner ever to play in a domestic Cup final at Wembley? This is on the assumption that a certain free on line source of information is correct, but am amazed if this really is true
  23. So where are we ? Lampitt, said they would be out of adminstration by the end of last week, but a lose lipped android let slip to Solent that there were problems and nothing seems to have happened and the takeover agreement has expired. Likewise the crossing the I's and dotting the T's with the football league, hasn't quite happened yet either. Having got it to this stage it would be unimaginable that Chanarai and co can't get the deal over the line.....I wonder what could be the hold up? Now of course everything could be going swimmingly behind the scenes, but at guess, maybe one of the below? 1) Someone else has put a bid in for the club (hopefully Lever). Intrestingly enough the CVA made no provision for the money raised through actually selling the club and we all assummed that chanarai would simply take it over for nothing.... but (Need some help from Clapham on this one) if someone has offered a chunk of cash and underwrites the agreed CVA, then andriod is duty bound to take the best deal for the creditors. The argument as to who would be best for the club in the long run, is irrelevent, if they can prove they have the funds to do it ( I think) andriod is duty bound. If he tried to push it through, the other party could cry foul and then its back to court. 2) The interim reports that gaydamak and Chanarai have charges over the same assetts, but that their legal team were looking into the validity of the charges. If it turns out that Gaydamak's claim is valid, then basically he owns fratton park and that would be hilarious and very very messy. 3) The money has run out from the intial parachute payment and the club needs a cash injection, that chanarai, would need to stump up and he doesnt want to put his hand in his pocket.
  24. No he wasn't he was very poor. I am a big fan of Lambert, but something is not quite right with him at the moment.
  25. Actually surprised it's been allowed to run. There is some stuff on here that leaves the site or owners exposed.
