  1. The picture that baj posted is it definately it, it had a single burner at the back and the colours are exact, but it didnt make that much noise. Any idea what it would be doing round here? Others would definatley have seen it...... I'll leave to them to give better descriptions.
  2. Out in Lordswood, very low, definately a military plane, only thing I can say it looked like was Concorde. Can't find anything that it looks like on Google. Anybody else see it, know what it is? (******* hope so or it's the looney bin for me)
  3. You are wrong. but not the time to argue about it.
  4. As is a fixed term contract. Even if he didnt play for anybody else, RM could sue Ronanldo for the total cost of that fixed term contract, including the costs that (Signing on fee) that it took to set up.
  5. You are wrong, but the rolling contract is significant. With a fixed term contract, i am guessing the that the maximum compensation would be the total value of the contract, if the manager is on a 1 million a year and has three years left, then compensation would top at 3 million. Quite how you guage / estimate it with a rolling contract, i am not sure.
  6. Doesnt work like that in football. What if Ronaldo resigned from RM tomorrow, he couldnt just sign for another team, without any fee involved.
  7. I could be wrong, but i thought even if he resigned and then joined us manager we would still be liable for compensation, albeit determined by a tribunal
  8. He was my art teacher at school. As a complete aside, i see that Dave isn't listed with the academy any more, has he left?
  9. Any other conclusion would defy logic

  11. Absolutely good news. The spin will suggest mutual, but The Sun, wouldn't have given anything. It does suggest however that NC is capable of backing down, when he gets it wrong... a very welcome trait, that perhaps we havent seen before. Anyone got Pardews number
  12. Wes, you are an intelligent poster, you can't really believe that surely? Would South Coast Club hire Adkins be any more ludicrous than, err, lets say, South Club Club sack Pardew?????? They took offence (As did the whole press, broadsheets as well) and backed NC into a corner, there is no way they would have backed down, they didn't need to. As they wrote in their very first article about it, we need them more than they need us. It was hurting the club and from two independant posters, (One an ex Times Journo) who posted about his visit to New international, the very next day, we are back to being "Southampton". Time will tell regarding the photography, but this was only ever going to go one way.
  13. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3130742/SOUTHAMPTON-are-set-to-unveil-Nigel-Adkins-as-their-new-manager-today.html The first word tells you all you need to know. Looks like Kaiser Soze and Jackanory were right about NC's little trip to the paper. A few people owe them an apology. Well if true then, it shows the man can back down and definately the right decision.

    Kevin Keegan

I guess, i'll have to give you that one !! But then I guess Ashley would never try and cancel a match on the hallowed turf, pre paid for by supporters and a couple of managers to boot
  15. Miserable cigar chomping, peroxide loving, medalillion wearing XXXX. 50 plus ******* letters, not even a ******* reply and the tosser goes and chooses a GIRL to meet the Saints. ******

You should get in touch with some of those super high contacts of yours, I think you might change your mind
  17. I think you are right regarding talking about the interview
  18. I agree with your thoughts on Cortese, but he would have realised pretty quickly he had ****ed up and would have to rectify the situation and try and save face. You can pick your battles with most people, but not the British Press and certainly not the Sun. I predicted a while ago that this would be resolved and it will be......and SFC will be the ones to back down.
  19. So what about the other two that got sacked
  20. If this turns out to be true, I’m sure Adkins, is a top bloke and a good manager and before I continue, should add he has my complete support, but without a ball being kicked, I truly believe this is a bad hire and ultimately doomed. To all but a handful, this is Pardew’s squad and from the better players he convinced to stay, through to the higher league players he enticed down and league one hot shots he convinced we were the best option, they all have something in common; They were sold a vision (Quotes from Lallana, Fonte, Pardew, Lambert etc.) that they bought into, success was on the way and they were going to be a part of that. I think that whatever happened with the Pardew , there was always going to be fall out (As it does with every club, in the same situation) and it doesn’t matter anymore the rights and wrongs of his sacking, but to minimize the impact, the new boss did have to have a “Wow” factor or certainly have a persona of success, that would go some way to reinstate the vision and drive of the club. Sadly Adkins doesn’t bring that with him and whilst they are supposed to be professional and get paid huge amounts of money, any backlash from Pardews exit or diminished views the players have towards our ambition are unlikely to be quelled and will be reflected in results. For all his faults, Cortese has been consistent in one thing – The people who he has bought in around the team, are (On paper anyway) top people in the industry and probably the most expensive. This is the first hire since Markus’s death and whilst it wouldn’t be at all unusual that the family haven’t yet decided the levels of funding (If indeed any) it feels very much like the “Cheap” option and not in keeping with his previous track record. Now whilst that might all be conjecture, I can’t help feeling disappointed and the process of resetting my expectations, to a self sufficient League One club, as opposed to sequential promotions back to the top flight and World domination, is becoming more of a reality…. Tempered of course with the fact that at least we are still here. Good luck Nigel.
  21. FC in one line response shocker
  22. Absolutely. LOL, I cant believe people really thought they were true
  23. Don't bother mate, apparently, no fans know or ever get to speak to players, managers etc. They live in glass houses and only let out for 90 minutes on a Saturday. Bit like big brother, no access to the outside World.
  24. It would have left the player without a club through no fault of his own, so not surprised.
