  1. I had this discussion years ago (Pre Wilde, Crouch et all) when the general concenus of the forum was support for Lowe and someone argued that wasn't the real feeling amoungst Saints fans. Now obvioulsy some can't comprehend the fact that anyone could have a different view and therefore they must be wrong, but from the (Little) marketing knowledge I have, the size of the membership (8,500, of which there are 3,500 active memers) in relation to the customer base, of potentially around 30,000, it would indeed meet general marketing criteria of claiming to "representative". Given most houses now have internet or certainly access to the internet, i don't think we can all be passed off as "Internet geeks" (Although many can). So when we run polls and things like that, are the results a true reflection of what Saints fans in general think? The reason i ask, is based on the responses to a certain thread, which I personally find quite staggering and are certainly the opposite that i would expect to hear from the people that I go to football with and wondering if that made us or forum, more or less "representative" of the general Saints fans views.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-10796584 I'm not really sure this is a story or not, but the watchdogs seem to think it is. Surely if the data is public, this bloke has just collected a whole lot of freely available data?
  3. I think you have missed the point in what he was saying. Given HMRC have challenged and lost the football creditors rule, they have been legally deemed as secured creditors in a numer of cases (12 i think) which means they should not be voting on the CVA...... I think his point was either way HMRC win. If they are not secured creditors the CVA is void, if they are they shouldnt have voted, so it's void.
  4. Going Saturday - All decents tips welcome please
  5. Sorry how are you spelling that? (Private joke and no I'm not being serious)
  6. This is going back to the eighties, so not sure whether it would work today, but a mad Aunt came to visit and went to the old Tyrell and Green and bought loads. The cashier rang it up and asked her for x amount, to which she the made a cash offer. The cashier was taken aback and ********.....long story short manager came out and she got a discount, for nothing more than asking
  7. You make an interesting point. IF (happy to acknowledge it is an if) NI has been banned for stating his opinions then where does it end???? edit I belive one club did ban a fans forum owner for such things..... (and then let him back in)
  8. LOL..... you get proved wrong, have a pop, then get proved even more wrong .......and it's time to move on, quality
  9. How could they do that when they would never look on here and certanily not post....... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/search.php?searchid=66276 The try harder bit was unecessary and just makes look even more silly (Especially when you click on the link above)
  10. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?18859-Ticket-Bookings-Today-and-Christmas-Eve You stand corrected.... Not that it matters.
  11. Err they always used to respond in an official capacity
  12. The same (Different guise) forum, that. lowe hired external PR companies to infiltrate, that wilde used to gain support and that Crouch used to discredit the others the same one that jim hone spent his working week on ,.......................and the same one that David Luker used to post updated ticket information (Note he doesnt anymore - do the maths)
  13. LOL, are you serious? DO you really believe that ???????????????? Probably not worth a comment as it won't change your mind. But you are very very wrong.
  14. Why you can’t have an opinion on a particular topic on here, without being labeled into a certain camp, I don’t know, may be it’s just the fallout from previous politics and regimes. For what it’s worth if Cortese has banned Nick for expressing a particular opinion, then that is just pathetic, sad and dangerous. If there is more to it, then let’s wait and see, but just keep our fingers crossed it is an administrive error. What I am surprised about it the vitriol shown to another Saints fan and from what I can see, is based on nothing more than the fact he has offered his opinion, publically on all things Saints. The irony isn’t lost on me that many of those people (Wrongly) criticizing this, have 1000’s of posts on a public Saints fans forum……to do what??? (Oh yes…..express THEIR opinions on all things Saints) Of course we are all grateful to NC and ML and ultimately their success, means our success, so we are all on the same side, but NC is here for the short term (See his notes in JPT program) and came into in the club on the back of a business case, not pure love of the club or some nostalgic notion of hero worshiping (Nothing wrong in that) and presented himself as a custodian of the club defined by a fans charter he has decided to drop and ignore within 12 months. He is running the club and can do as he pleases and whilst I was disappointed with such things as the removal of the payment plan, given the numbers sold to date and on the basis we match last year’s attendances, it will be a commercial victory for the club (Albeit at the expense of the fans – Success doesn’t come cheap in football) and kudos for Cortese. The same might be said with the spat with the Echo, if Saints get advertising revenue from the official site or pay per click throughs, and he can increase traffic and revenue by locking out the Echo, then (Again will effect some fans) then so be it and more revenue potentially means better players, so kudos to him once again. So just because people challenge him, doesn’t mean they are against him. I’m certainly not and wish him every success, but not at cost of banning lifelong Saints fans for an opinion and we should all hope that is not the case.
  15. My guess from this thread is that some people are confusing Nick Illingsworth for Richard Chorley
  16. It's been posted a few times, but always worth another read http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/portsmouth/article7069905.ece
  17. Good idea, thats exactly what a relative did and got a handwritten response from the man himself. A year later the company lawyers were still pursing it and he sent them a copy of the letter
  18. Gemmel

    Barnet

Yep Nipper just phoned to say he is starting - He's from Birmingham I think
  19. Check the David Luker thread and then re-read what you have posted on here. Hypocrisy doesn't come close to covering it.
  20. I think your comments would be more valid on another thread and perhaps your contribution to this one deleted???
  21. New sentances start with a capital, correct your grammar and I will be happy to respond
  22. May be its me, but he doesnt sound confident. If HMRC use his description of what players consitute Image rights, word for word, then he's in trouble. The stuff aboout owing them 5 million and not 13 is equally baffalling - that extra 5 million would take them over the 25%..... unless I just completely misunderstood what he said. I really think he is a liability and his brief would do well to advise him...."Say nothing"
  23. There are some truly staggering responses to this thread and lets just hope this nothing more than an administrive error, because if this is true then a part of SFC truly did die last year. Firstly the ones who spout "NI" isn't the voice of the fans and doesn't speak for me blah blah blah you are right and neither does he confess to, but like sheep, you all assume that he says the opposite and I think you will find he has tried to pass the "spokesman" batton on a number of times. I have not always agreed with his personal views on Saints and was never interested in joining the trust, but for those of you that find yourselves up north for a midweek game in the ****ing rain, if there is one other Saints fan you are likely to meet it's him. He doesn't need people sticking up for him and just as well, based on the responses of moronic, uneductaed, self centred idiots, that shamefully call themselves Saints fans......he's one of us FFS
  24. That would go to Clapham and Hutch. Clapham is very quiet these days. I hope he didn't get into trouble for sharing his industrys view of aa and uhy hacker
