The total investment to date is 55 million + any shortlfall from this season. 33 million was converted in equity and 64 million remain in liabilities. Without knowing the payout structure of the Premier and TV money (As in what has already been paid and what is left) it is impossible to say how much is covered or not. Whilst I agree with sentiment regarding that the investment is not close to market value, what I do believe is that the clubs market value, is probably as high as it will be for a long time.

Yes it most certainly is. Who wiped out 33 million pounds worth of debt- That would have been cash in her pocket. Who has funded an additional 20 odd million pounds and sits with responsibility of a further 60 million pounds worth of liabilities. Totally clueless

What a great post. The family are in for over 50 million spent so far and another 60 + in commitments and we have a post asking if we think she has the clubs best interests at heart. Please, just please.

Much better analogy than I used !

It's one of the strangest articles I have read for ages. It's like a striker saying that goalkeepers keep saving their shots or a salesman saying no one is buying his wares. It is not the clubs job to feed a tinpot local rag information. It the journalists job to create relationships that encourage information release or question and interview people in a clever way to extract the information they want. We are not talking pennies here, the subject or subjects in question are over 50 million quid and whatever hand we are playing (Sell or not sell) will not be best served by spouting off to the local press. Season ticket sales are irrelevant and will be regardless who leaves. Sure there might be handful that don't renew, based on who leaves, but there will be others that take their place and in the grand scheme of Premiership money, it is not significant.

I wonder if Cortese wrote that himself
-
You could well be right....should have added that "that was my understanding".

None and its a fair point. Question is when this was signed for. I do know that the knew board have just signed off an replacing the floodlights with LED lighting which will make us the first (I think) LED stadium in the world or Europe (One of the two). I take that as a good sign...... looks like they are here to stay.

Was built to support it, but never installed.
-
LOL - I think you are about the only football fan in country that would say that. Totally bizarre.
-
No it is not 33 million was converted in equity
-
That will be our first season in the prem's accounts that have just come out? Everything that preceded the Prem was chickenfeed in comparison.

The loans that were taken out with the BVI company, were signed by Gareth Rodgers and make no reference or directive to any shareholders approval either provided or required. - That probably doesn't mean anything and in any event I am sure you are right, but the comment about the financial situation being "difficult" is a strange one to make.
-
Problem is the family loan was converted into equity, so may be try again?
-
Who reported to Cortese. He wouldn't have any control over what Cortese did or didn't tell the estate.
-
Ok thanks - I always thought that was one of the anomalies with football finances , but happy to be corrected..... Although that leaves me struggling with companies net worth being minus 56 million
-
But players aren't listed on the balance sheet are they?

https://www.duedil.com/company/00053301/southampton-football-club-limited Is this right? Do we have any guru's on here that can add anything Ignore the "Networth" (I think) that is just a metric that doesn't include player values and deducts the liabilities from the assets (From what I can work out - Happy to be corrected) Anyway we know we have 27 million in outstanding player fees - Does this mean that loan from the BVI company is around 30 million? We also saw reports that we still owed for the development at Staplewood, but as was pointed out, work would not have been completed or still in progress if they hadn't been paid, so may be that was what the loan was for? For those that are judging the board on things that haven't happened yet, it might be worth bearing in mind these figures, especially if they came as a shock to them...... 64 million is 14 million over and above what they have put in to date!!! It might be we are better off with these people in charge as cortese might of had to sell, to balance the books and least the new lot can decide how much if any, they will continue to invest.

"The transfer of footballers is subject to VAT in the same way as any other goods or services. Domestic transfers in the UK are taxable at the 17.5% standard rate. However, transfers between football clubs in the EU are relieved of VAT. Sales from a UK club to a buyer outside the EU are also free of VAT, although if a UK club buys a player from outside the EU it must account for VAT on the purchase. The transfer window has no real effect on the VAT position. If a club has a December VAT period, but wants to buy a player in the first week of January it could bring the tax point forward by requesting a VAT invoice from the selling club on 31 December. Of course, this might meant that the selling club has to pay its VAT three months earlier. Read more at http://www.taxationweb.co.uk/forum/football-transfers-t22078.html#2cTOhj8Ryu5jws4r.99"

You don't buy players with that sort of injury. In fact you don't buy players who have had recovered from that sort of injury until they have come through at least a season.

I'm not going to name names, as it is not my story to tell and it is as I said, 4th hand. People tend to get slated when they post something like this especially if it is wrong, so I am perhaps hanging myself out to dry, but I wouldn't have posted it, if I didn't believe it. The other side of the coin, is that if you had some bad news to announce, it might be better if it was tempered with some good / great news
-
This is 4th hand.....but here goes (I can't guarantee this is true- so make your own minds up) Pochettino signed a new contract over the weekend. Will be announced mid week.
-
....But not switched on

Wake up two pints.
