This is exactly my point. CCC clubs can't afford to pay that kind of cash, and Prem clubs can't afford to take that kind of gamble on a player who isn't even tried at Championship level.

Pardew was very shrewd in his "Rickie can be a Saints legend on par with Keegan and Channon". I'm sure the thought of being that highly regarded is a fantastic prospect for someone like him and it may just be the swaying factor in any decisions regarding transfers in the future.
