  1. If he was so good we would be willing to pay more than £14million. Seems even saints know they're aiming low with this transfer. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Ok, now I have. Done. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. I haven't. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. Austins goal highlights featured much better worked goals than the one above. I don't know why people are so upset that i'm not excited by a signing. I'm excited by Djenepo if that helps.
  5. I viewed Hasenhuttls preference to be creating chances quickly after winning the ball back high up the pitch, in which case someone able to cross from deep would be a real asset.
  6. That was what I said originally. As Adrian said above, unlikely to get the space/amount of chances he got in the Championship...defenders will be more alert, quicker to close down and sharper in the tackle and keepers won't be as slow to react. If he gets double figures I will happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong, but I just haven't seen anything about him to be able to get excited.
  7. This coupled with the fact that most of his goals required very little skill on his part is what makes me think this signing is a mistake. People go on about his pace but I don't even see any evidence of that, doesn't seem to be any quicker than Austin.
  8. Whilst I agree with the idea of having experience in key positions, one positive I take from Ralph's under 24s only rule is that it seems as if he's planning on being here for 3-4 years to grow a team himself. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. I think both Begovic and Boruc are better than Hart too...not sure why Bournemouth are interested in the same way I wasn't sure why Burnley wanted him when they had Heaton and that other lad whose name escapes me.
  10. He must have something about him to have had a successful career but it's a fact that since he's been at the club every keeper we've had has regressed or stagnated, time for some new coaching techniques me thinks.
  11. £20million please.
  12. Ings finishing is very good but he will be injured for half the season. Long showed signs of improvement after working with Hasenhuttl...I think he could have his best season yet for us.
  13. How can Chuka Umuna not hold a by-election now that he's not only left the Labour party to set up a new party, but joined the Lib Dems - the party that got just over 3000 votes in his constituency in the last election at 6.5% of the vote? Personally think the law needs to change so that anyone who leaves/joins a party whilst being an elected MP automatically triggers a by-election.
  14. Was just thinking this, will be a lot of resentment from the players dropped out of the side.
  15. I wouldn't imagine Obafemi would be kicking up a fuss already, at 18 years old, about not being in line for a chunk of games next season. A loan out to a league one side would be best I think - not that I think that's his level, but you want him to get experience and learn the game without damaging his confidence in his abilities.
  16. Interesting to see how differently people interpret the fixtures, that looks a horrific start to me. Away to "lesser" sides who are tough to beat or riding high, home to one of the best sides in the world and then United who are always tough, away to Spurs, home to the team that are desperate to beat us at St Marys...someone said we could be top 4 by the end of september, I think it's more likely we'll be rock bottom!
  17. Agreed, say we sell him for £15million, we're basically saying that having him for two years is worth less than that. Having said that I seem to have more faith in Targett than most. I won't be too worried either way but if we do sell Bertrand i'd hope that we'd push for £20million.
  18. Wasn't jumping on anyone buddy, just pointing out that high spending is common place now and not an indicator of anything really.
  19. Indeed, his shots to scuff ratio is a worry.
  20. Fulham spent more than that on a striker and never looked like staying up. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. An exciting signing. Not expecting huge things for this season as its a huge step up, but over the next 3 or 4 years could be a big player for us. Takes the pressure off Redmond slightly too. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Honestly don't see much difference between Gallagher and Adams, and Sims is a different player but yes i'd rather have him. Sims has been dangerous every time he's played and the majority of that has been in a limited and underperforming defensive side.
  23. As I said, not writing him off and will support him. Just can't get excited over this signing from the evidence available.
  24. Better keepers would have kept those shots out, that's my point.
  25. I'm not writing him off, i'm just saying that absolutely nothing about him from his stats to the clips i've seen suggests he is a Premier League quality player. His shots on goal are all scuffed, rough ones that look like the keeper is falling over them, or defenders passing the ball straight to him, or tap ins. He won't get defending or goalkeeping that poor from Premier League sides (bar once or twice a season). I've also seen people talk about his pace - again, seen no evidence of that. Doesn't seem any faster than anyone we've got, and certainly slower than Ings, Redmond and Long. Personally I don't see anything that makes me think he's an improvement in the squad on Gallagher or Obafemi. If the choices were Adams or no-one, i'd rather we went into next season with Ings, Long, Redmond, Obafemi and Gallagher as our options up top. I still don't believe for a second that there isn't a better option in the lower leagues or abroad that we could get for £10-15million. I'd actually rather we use that money to pay a loan fee for a much better quality player, there must be someone out there at one of the top clubs who won't be getting game time next season?
