  1. Because he's not deemed good enough for Roma, a team that finishes 6th in Series A last season. He'd be a great signing for us.
  2. We should spend all our time and energy going for people who aren't available.
  3. Always thought he was hard done by and judged unfairly by the inflated fee that was paid. He got 16 goals from the wing the season before he was frozen out.
  4. Thats really sad. Obviously struggling for funds. Anyone able to get in touch and start a crowdfund or something?
  5. Nice try you pretentious cock. I wasn't saying the fact he hasn't managed in the Prem is what I was holding back from saying, it was that I think he's getting ahead of himself in terms of his own ability to judge players. Hooiveld was a much better player in the championship than Stephens was this season - and he was fucking trash in the Prem. We've seen the gulf in quality work both ways, when coming down as well with the likes of Bednarek and Aarmstrong looking like world beaters after being garbage in the Prem. If we go into next season with Martin thinking Stephens and Smallbone will be "top, top players" for us, and signing a stop gap keeper till Bazunu comes straight back into the team, then we are coming straight back down again.
  6. Yeah, women do drop out of the game randomly when they realise they only have a few more years of a decent salary left so they should probably get a degree and/or start a good career soon or be lagging behind. Caitlin Morris was our best player a few years back but dropped out when we went full time professional because it clashed with her other ambitions.
  7. Been sitting on saying this until the joy from the playoff final died down a little. But Martin needs to remember he's never managed in the Prem. Some of the comments he's made after promotion and a couple before worry me, he seems to be under the impression that because he's reached the Prem that proves he knows what it takes to compete there - he doesn't. He's made comments about not knowing why we loaned Stephens out the season we got relegated - we know why. It's because he isn't good enough for the Prem. He's made comments that Smallbone is going to be a "top, top player for this club" - anyone see Smallbone running our midfield for years in the Prem? I don't. I am seriously worried about his ability to judge whether players are good enough for the Prem.
  8. Revisionism a bit there mate. Sulemana has looked dangerous in the Prem before, Aribo only ever looked good in the championship.
  9. Of course, the wheels are falling off.
  10. A big loss. I remember seeing him in a meeting once and thinking "who is that commercial officer he is so dominant".
  11. She was signed a league below so I guess she just didn't progress as well as they'd hoped.
  12. Great player, right decision though. Hopefully we keep him around to let him rehab from his injury using our facilities until he signs for someone.
  13. If McCarthy is staying as backup for a new keeper then great. He should not be our stop gap till Bazunu is fit (who shouldn't be first choice anyway).
  14. Rodriguez played instead of Lambert not JWP. He took Hammond's place in the team.
  15. I think Paqueta is first choice free kick taker for them. Quite funny.
  16. Doesn't exactly look thrilled about it does he?
  17. I've just shown you that he's had less than 14 games worth of game time for us spread over 2 full seasons and you think that's more than enough? I look forward to your final and definitive judgement of our new summer signings 14 games into next season.
  18. 28 matches of which only 5 were starts - 667 minutes in total or less than seven and a half games worth of football. Similar story in the Prem, only 541 minutes - equivalent of 6 games of football. Lets round up and say he's played the equivalent of 14 games of football for us. This is why he needs loaning somewhere that he will start and stay on for the majority of the games, to see how he does with some consistency behind him.
  19. I disagree that he hasn't shown progress, even though he's had a ridiculously small amount of game time to try and do anything in since his arrival. If we were signing a French youth international striker we'd be optimistic about how he would look in a couple of years time, i'm optimistic about him. We would get what, £10million at best for him if we sold him now? What benefit is that to us? We may as well send him on loan somewhere and see how he develops with 40+ games played.
  20. Mara shouldn't be sold, he's only 20 and I firmly believe there is a player in there particularly if we go down again. But a loan out somewhere he'll start every game would be ideal. Lower championship or even league one, most important thing for him now is starting significant amounts of games.
  21. Tempted to get one again for the first time since Pellegrino was in charge, corner safe standing looks tempting at £499 spread over 10 months.
  22. I don't think he really did any better than Edozie would have if he'd kept starting.
  23. Lavia in fairness got injured after 32 minutes and was out for the season. I think he would have been starting for them...although we obviously knew how fragile he was as we kept taking him off with 20+ minutes to go in every game.
  24. Good way of looking at it. Lets get Tim Ream, Angelo Ogbonna or Willian in on player/coach deals. Pay them a players wage to play less than 10 games and coach our youngsters with no experience or qualifications.
  25. I'd also take Broja. We only need someone that's going to get 10 goals to keep us in the league really with the rest of the team chipping in with a couple.
