Another good step. It seems to get forgotten that the "5 year plan" that was mooted at the time of Cortese and Markus' arrival was encompassing the turn around of the entire club from top to bottom, including the staff, renovation of the stadium, redevelopment of the training ground AND getting back to the Prem.

Their problems started when they moved to the Ricoh, not when SISU took over. When it was built they needed at least 10 sell outs just to break even on their budgeted repayments, and IIRC they didn't get any sell outs until 2008, with the crowds averaging around 21-22k. The last few years they've been getting crowds of around 13k, this season dropping down to 10k. They really did aim too high with the stadium and are suffering for it now.

Connor Wickham was £9million for christ sake. We got a good deal.
-
Mayuka, Yoshida and Gazzaniga have all gone up by half a million from when we first actually signed them. Amazing how that happens. Heard it reported on MOTD a while back that Gaston was signed for £15million as well, rather than £12million. Why does this always seem to happen? People just love chucking an extra 0 on peoples transfer fees.

Wasn't that Sfc_Scott or something?

Don't be silly. Cortese is clearly a troll but doesn't like using the internet in case he stumbles onto something nasty about him. So instead he plans extravagant and expensive construction, renovation etc. work and then refuses to pay. Then he declines to turn up to "detention" when the courts order him to pay up.

I think everyone should remember this is another one sentence rumour from The Sun, they seem to have a random rumour generator.

He's been in the squad, though not since august.
-
Well I've done it now. If he reads that he'll probably pull a Delgado.

Absolutely. The guy is 21 years old, moving to a new country, in one of the hardest leagues to adapt to in the world, and he has done bloody well so far. Would we get our money back if we were to sell him in the summer? Probably not. Would we get our money back if we were to sell him in 2-3 years? I definitely think so, and much more. To reiterate, he's 21 years old. He's not even close to being in his prime.

Ipswich at home, lost 2-0. George Burleys first game in charge I believe. Good times.

Ah yes...this will definitely go down in history as one of "those" moments. Amazing feeling that day.

Erm...why?

Oh joy, another thread where we get to make "funnies" about unoriginal football chants without actually contributing anything constructive.

Even when he does, it never lasts. He quietly slips back on hoping everyone will forget. The people who write the articles - and I think there are only 3, maybe 4 who use this site regularly - are under no obligation to do so and get nothing whatsoever out of it. You think they're doing a poor job? Offer up your own spare time and do better.

Fair enough, poorly worded on my part.

I'd say almost certainly yes. But there's no point in having a principle if you're not going to stick to it.

What has that got to do with what I said? The fact is we aren't difficult to deal with at all, it's pretty simple. If you don't like the fact that the agent won't get paid much by us, then go somewhere else.
-
Absolutely. I'm amazed clubs ever even agreed to paying them.

Edit, duplicate.

I think it's a safe assumption that agents don't like us because they get f*ck all money from us, not because we are "difficult to deal with" as was always widely accepted.

It's on the Premier Leagues website, what more evidence do you want? http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/premier-league-release-agents-fees-nov-2012.html
