  1. Yes, but that was out of hundreds voting, which means there were quite a few people who were unhappy with him (although I don't believe for a second this forum is representative of the fanbase).
  2. Could tell from the scream alone that he'd done some damage.
  3. A centreback. As much as Fonte and Yoshida have improved over recent weeks, we need quality back up and - perhaps almost as important - competition for places to spur them on. Look at how much the likes of Hammond and Chaplow improved when Cork was brought in, how Lambert stepped up with Rodriguez breathing down his neck...and how effective Guly has been knowing that he's skating on very thin ice here with J-Rod and Mayuka in the squad and Lee waiting in the wings. It's a shame Hooiveld choked as I believe he could have settled as others have, but we can't really afford to take the risk. Get another centre back in and we will see a dramatic improvement across the three already here, IMO. As for left back, I honestly don't think it's a problem anymore. Shaw is quality, Fox is solid when called upon and if things get desperate Clyne can hold his own with Richardson at right back. If we can sign a proven Prem keeper then great, but if not stick with what we've got. As far as midfield and attack are concerned...it's all looking good. If we're going to sign anyone there they should be young, hungry with bags of potential, ready to grow with the rest of the squad.
  4. Surely for security purposes you cannot leave baggage unattended? Or is that just the sensible countries that enforce that policy?
  5. Nah, all footballers bring out autobiographies in their early 20s now, the less successful ones later on (but usually before they retire). Because of the exposure they will ALWAYS sell. And then when they retire they get to release another one...with a few more in between if they win a league, cup or european competition, or recover from an addiction.
  6. Clean sheet should be the aim here. We need to build on our improvements, not let ourselves slip back. Although Reading are in the same boat we were in, where they're so poor defensively they hold nothing back when attacking...so we could get caught out on the break.
  7. Not really relevant, is it. But let's get criticism in wherever we can.
  8. Oh right. Yeah Chris Maguire...hate that pr*ck.
  9. David Norris?
  10. Indeed That's why I didn't even bother replying.
  11. I thought the press conference usually starts at 2? No updates as of yet...?
  12. I can actually remember the third Brighton goal when they beat us 3-1 in League One being applauded by the home fans. First time shot from about 25 yards out. Funny how we try to be nice to these tinpot clubs (them, Bompey) and they get all arsey with us for no reason.
  13. I get the feeling that some people are jealous he gets the inside scoop on everything to do with the club.
  14. Grammar lesson is what?
  15. How did you get to that conclusion? Jesus H.
  16. Someone said they saw him at the United game but nothing's been mentioned other than that.
  17. Another good step. It seems to get forgotten that the "5 year plan" that was mooted at the time of Cortese and Markus' arrival was encompassing the turn around of the entire club from top to bottom, including the staff, renovation of the stadium, redevelopment of the training ground AND getting back to the Prem.
  18. Their problems started when they moved to the Ricoh, not when SISU took over. When it was built they needed at least 10 sell outs just to break even on their budgeted repayments, and IIRC they didn't get any sell outs until 2008, with the crowds averaging around 21-22k. The last few years they've been getting crowds of around 13k, this season dropping down to 10k. They really did aim too high with the stadium and are suffering for it now.
  19. Connor Wickham was £9million for christ sake. We got a good deal.
  20. Mayuka, Yoshida and Gazzaniga have all gone up by half a million from when we first actually signed them. Amazing how that happens. Heard it reported on MOTD a while back that Gaston was signed for £15million as well, rather than £12million. Why does this always seem to happen? People just love chucking an extra 0 on peoples transfer fees.
  21. Wasn't that Sfc_Scott or something?
  22. Don't be silly. Cortese is clearly a troll but doesn't like using the internet in case he stumbles onto something nasty about him. So instead he plans extravagant and expensive construction, renovation etc. work and then refuses to pay. Then he declines to turn up to "detention" when the courts order him to pay up.
  23. I think everyone should remember this is another one sentence rumour from The Sun, they seem to have a random rumour generator.
  24. He's been in the squad, though not since august.
  25. Well I've done it now. If he reads that he'll probably pull a Delgado.
