I can understand Shelvey and (to a lesser extent) Welbeck, but Sturridge has been awful so far this season. Amazed Defoe, Bent or Crouch aren't there.

You lot have got way too much time on your hands.

**** that, I've read his 50 shades of Grey thread, god knows what kind of weirdness I'd be letting myself in for.
-
I think I'd need more of an incentive tbh, I'd be putting free curries and use of the moderators recreation room at risk. What else can you offer?
-
I see myself as more of a traffic warden in all honesty.

Agreed, both like to run into the channels with Rodriguez having better pace and more ability to beat his man whilst Lambert is better at actually seeing the pass and executing it. I look forward to Mayuka starting a game at some point.
-
Hopefully he'll have been doing a lot of upper body strength work in the gym while he was out then.
-
Agreed, we've made small improvements over the last couple of games, we need to keep that progression going. More changes are not going to help.
-
Missing this game due to work, nailed on that we'll win.

Great stuff.

I haven't read all of this thread, but I highly doubt anyone has said anything like that. I'm one of the people that has said we should stick with him even IF we go down, but I have never accepted relegation.
-
Indeed. The first 5 months of last season were probably the best performances of Hammonds career. The fact that he "only" looked above average at NPC level whilst playing at his absolute best tells us that he wouldn't have been able to keep up at this level, no matter how hard he tried. HOWEVER - I actually think we miss his presence in the dressing room. Best captain we've had for a long, long time.
-
Honestly I think with two strong CBs we would be able to hold our own.
-
Definitely stick with Gazza. He will only improve with experience and at such a young age he could be really good for us (especially with an experienced keeper like Davis to guide him).
-
No you're right, he probably is thinking about the money - but if so then I wish he would look at the bigger picture as well. No-one at our club is going to throw a paddy and refuse to play if we go down, from day one we've always talked about bringing in players with the right mentality - so if we keep our group together then we can try again with more money and an extra years experience. Sack Adkins and go down, new manager will want to completely overhaul the team.

You can't lose what you never had.

Adkins now 2nd favourite for Blackpool job
Saint_clark replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Apart from us. Would be perfect for Adkins though, no great expectations at Blackpool. -
That will just be because of a sudden rush of bets due to the rumours this morning. I hardly pay any attention to odds in situations like this, except when someone has come completely out of nowhere and is suddenly the favourite.
-
Absolutely agree. I will be gutted if he is sacked, and sadly the only person I can see Cortese wanting to go for is Redknapp. If that happens I will not go to another game.
-
No 'perhaps' about it, it's too soon to judge ramirez - not forgetting of course that whilst we might be 10 games into the season, Ramirez has only played 3.
-
Definitely heard boos when Guly came on.

Indeed, V Villa is the only time we've properly played that formation, other times it's been 3 deep CMs with two wingers pushing on to support the striker. We seem to lack the discipline in the middle needed to play that way. If one of Davis and Morgan were told to stay behind the ball at all times, then we'd have enough players back to cover the full backs. But that doesn't happen - everyone just floods forwards without a care for the space they leave behind them.
-
In fairness, Puncheon has scored and (I think) got 2 assists this season.

Haven't they got like £50 wage budget available or something?
