  1. Really...? They don't even get that for Uniteds reserves. Fwiw, I don't think we will enter one. It kind of defeats the whole point of having the development squad the last few years.
  2. Reading through the comments on that article, what a bunch of bitter, angry morons they sound like (not all, I admit).
  3. Regarding Vegas being cancelled, I'm sure in the dressing room celebrations you can see a couple of youngsters there - Reeves and Ward-Prowse at least - so perhaps the club didn't want to take the squad on a trip where a few of them would be left out for 90% of the time?
  4. Home grown players have to have been at the club for 5 years before their 21st birthday - I think. The subs bench being cut down and the fact that we're successful - and therefore have more to lose if a youth player doesn't perform - are the reasons we haven't seen anyone break through recently. Worth remembering that in cup games last season, Reeves and Ward-prowse played a few times with the latter even getting on the scoresheet.
  5. A great story, but when I read this... ...I thought you were going to say that Fox got annoyed Lallana had stolen his thunder.
  6. It would, but it wouldn't devalue the sale. As said above, Newcastle received around £10million for their naming rights - but everyone just calls it St James anyway.
  7. What a load of tosh. The rumour that Cortese cancelled it, that is.
  8. Not for me...he tries far too hard to be all the players and managers best mate.
  9. Great video, but I hated the "tough year" comment to Sharp. He doesn't need telling, no less reminding at a time like that.
  10. I'd wager all of those are down to mistranslations.
  11. Watch the video of all goals this season - 2 or 3 of them come from Fox overlapping. And that's not including the ones that didn't make it into the video, or the ones that didn't result in a goal. The "Fox doesn't overlap" view is just as huge a myth as the "Fox passes the ball into the opposite stand" one.
  12. Or perhaps the same Fox that, as I said, has to mark 2 players at once and would rather trust his CBs to clear a cross than let an extra oppo player run into the box unmarked. I'm not blaming Lallana by the way - I know full well the system we play leaves the fullbacks exposed, and that's the point. We have to cut them a bit of slack by taking that into consideration.
  13. I wish it would tell you when players come back from suspension. My star CB was missing for one game but missed 2 because I clicked "submit team" a split second before I noticed he was available again - and I then lost 3-0, two of them the fault of the stand-in.
  14. That bubbles song is so f*cking boring, I've heard it at least 20 times already tonight.
  15. Sometimes, yes - but he is also often caught behind the play because we've been on the attack, given the ball away and the opponents have broken.
  16. Oh, f*ck off West Ham.
  17. Considering Lallana is allowed a lot of freedom with his attacking play, I think Fox has been outstanding this season often having to cover that entire flank himself.
  18. I agree to an extent, keep most of them as squad players - but people like Holmes, Connolly, Butterfield I would let go.
  19. There's a mute button for people like you, there isn't an "add music" button for people like me
  20. Better than silence?
  21. Nearly towards the end of the season now, and he still is heavily involved. Guess we just got so used to it that we didn't notice anymore! A couple of bad performances coupled with fans jumping on his back and chanting for De Ridder whilst Guly was still on the pitch meant his confidence was at zero for the last month at least.
  22. Gulys little flick for the goal at 7.05...jesus...
  23. I have to admit, I've never actually seen him put in a performance that's made me sit up and take notice - but I'd love to be proved completely wrong.
  24. Amazing. Couple of things to pay close attention to - how much Guly is involved, and how good the work that he does is, and also just how f*cking brilliant our pass and move football was (especially in the first half of the season).
