In fairness Davis was getting beaten at his near post last season as well, but it will happen a lot more in the Prem as the opposition will have more chances. It's his biggest failing.

Have you watched it back yet? It was a good foot and a half inside the post. He was stood too far to the left, no question.

How about actually giving our new players some time to settle in AND play against teams that won't be in the CL spots at the end of the season? Forgetting of course that we're not trying to win a Championship, so judging our defence by that standard is pretty silly.

Oh well. Bizarrely we actually showed some promising signs there. Ramirez and Yoshida both looked good, Fonte has improved, Rodriguez looked much better in the centre.

Considering we can get relegated and promoted next season within the "5 year plan" I don't think he'll get sacked at all.

Adkins has been going nuts at them all half telling them to push up.

On a positive note, when we have got hold of the ball for an extended period we've linked up well in the midfield and especially down the right.

Well, Newcastle have done it V Arsenal, no reason why we can't. I'd take Steven Davis off for Ramirez and put Lallana in the middle. As much as I hate to say it, I think we have to drop Kelvin and give Gazzaniga a chance.
