  1. need to sort one out pretty soon as i think this guy is going to be banging plenty of goals in for us. i personally like the old shipperley tune if not the rasiak one would be good. both are good and quite unique
  2. there is no doubt we do have a losing mentality at the moment but i believe that will change very soon with the new squad taking shape. one thing i do remember clearly thinking in the past is when we were in the premier league and had a few seasons in a row where we really struggled and looked dead and buried yet always came good no matter how bad the situation looked was that i thought we had something ingrained in our club that refused to let us accept relegation. i remember thinking that as players came and went something was passed onto the new generation that simply wouldnt accept relegation. Yes many seasons we really struggled but it was strange how at the end of the season when it really mattered we would go on a winning run and get the points required. I think a large part of that was having players who really cared about the club like matty and although the dodds and benalis etc werent the most talented they bled red and white and lifted the other players and the passion was infectious. I believe we will soon get out of this mentality as our class will soon start to show when we really start to gel then confidence will grow and winning will become a habit. I do believe some of our new signings could be key to this. I am so frustrated with the start to the season but a little bit of patience is needed and things will soon come good
  3. they have probably never seen a twenty pound note before
  4. good idea mr steven adams, then when you have finished reading it you can lend it to me when we catch up for that long overdue beer either in brisbane or down the gold coast
  5. I think crouch is quality, i have liked him ever since i first saw him play for qpr and was made up when saints signed him. I think in todays market he is a very good buy at ten million. I think the real issue here lordswood is your revelation that your best mate is a pompey fan....... how can something as unfortunate as that happen!!??
  6. i think the away support will be ok because we are playing a lot of localish teams many of whom will see us also as the glamour club of the division (without meaning to sound ****y) because of our history in the top flight recently, large stadium and new wealthy owners. i think brighton, millwall, charlton, leeds, swindon, bristol rovers, yeovil and norwich are all capable of selling their full allocation. i recon the average will be around the 20k mark, this will be higher if we are playing good football, scoring goals, winning games and up near the top of the league
  7. its a tough one this, fact of the matter is i would be delighted with either keegan or strachan. i go along with the earlier comments that my heart says keegan but head says strachan. either one of these 2 though will really get things buzzing and the most important signing will be in place. the feel good factor would continue, crowds would be flocking to st marys and our journey back to the premier league would be well and truely underway
  8. i simply cannot believe the negativity of a few people, how can any saints fan not be over the moon at the moment. We are in fantasy land, the situation we now find ourselves in as one of the richest clubs in britain would be reason to celebrate at the best of times but it was only a week ago we were faced with the threat of folding completely. I can just about remember when we signed keegan who was the twice european footballer of the year at the time and the buzz that brought to the city was unbelievable but i think the buzz of the last couple of days has been much greater than that. I guess in life you will always find a couple of people who moan no matter what happens but please wake up to the situation here. what more could we possibly ask for than we have now got, this is beyond our wildest dreams. we have an owner who clearly means business and wants to bring success back to our beloved club and somebody has the cheek to say they are worried because its cheesy he wants to buy a season ticket!!!!! the future looks brighter than ever in the history of the club, enjoy it people and dont look for problems that simply dont exist. this club means so damn much to me as it does to thousands of saints fans in southampton and throughout the world that i have nearly found a tear in my eye over the last 48 hours as the reality of the situation has begun to hit home. i would like to say thankyou markus for what you have done from the bottom of my heart, you will probably never quite know the impact of what you are doing in saving our great club is having on my daily life and the daily lives of other saints fans who live and breathe southampton fc.
  9. yes i have feared for a while that the money invested may have belonged to crouch and he along with le tissier have been sucked in, its easy to be blinded when you care for something so much and want to help. i dont blame crouch or le tissier in any way if this goes wrong, which is looking more and more likely. what i dont understand is why anyone would do this if they werent intending to buy the club from the outset. surely they didnt go into this period of exclusivity hoping to pick up the funds from additional backers along the way. its possible that the motive was someone looking for 5 minutes of fame in the limelight but if this is an elaborate hoax that person would then have to face a lifetime looking over his shoulder from many many angry saints fans. if saints do go under this pinnacle bid will be largely responsible and if its found there was never any substance to it and we have wasted weeks in an exclusivity period for something that was never going to happen someone will be held accountable.
  10. you are an opinionated idiot. i am cringing just reading your words. i think you are the one that needs to show a bit more respect........ and what the hell does that mean you say about the age???
  11. where has the banana gone???
  12. the echo really has become gutter press scum over the last 5 years which is bad enough but when the stories are detrimental to saints at such a sensitive time its unforgivable. it really has become like a copy of a poor daily rag and i think we should boycott this paper until it gets back to the standards it used to be. the echo should report the news but to look for negative stories that dont neccesarily exist is way out of line. i hope the echo reporters do read this website looking for stories so they can see our point of view, we would rather have no news than sensationalised stories without foundation that could potentially damage saints.
  13. crab lungs sums it up perfectly for me here, i was a very young nipper when keegan signed for us as a player but will never forget the buzz he brought to the dell and to the city. he raised the profile of the club to new heights and we need someone like him or strachan to come in and raise our profile again and get a buzz about the place again. i dont see why so many people are dismissing the idea simply because we have slipped into league 1. we are a high profile club with a huge fan base and bags of potential, keegan or strachan or the likes could well view it as an exciting challenge to get us back to the premier league and with a bit of money invested into the squad and the crowds flocking back success would be highly likely. so what if we are currently in league 1, with an owner with a bit of money to invest le tiss on the board and our ground, fan base and history we would be a very attractive option for a manager.
  14. i think its great to have so many localish clubs to play next season (hopefully only for 1 or 2 seasons though before we get promoted). im looking forward to wycombe, mk dons, leyton orient and colchesters new ground amoungst others. pompey will always be the only true derby though. we may develop small rivalries here and there and its likely clubs will want to try and develop something that isnt there as bournemouth have been trying to do with us for years now. i cringe at bournemouth when they keep this one sided rivalry going
  15. seeing the last game we played ended in a draw, how can we achieve a back to back win today?
