  1. I'd add Forest and Leicester to that list. Going to get very scrappy down the bottom.
  2. 87/88 apparently 3 0 at home 1 0 away
  3. When was the last time Saints did the double over Chelsea?
  4. That was agony, only had Solent to listen to. I need a lie down now. Brilliant win well done Saints. Some weird results today, that will panic a few teams. Lots of work to do, hopefully Saints can bury Leeds next week
  5. Bit underwhelmed by that team but if we liked the cut of Selles Jib, can hardly complain now. No issues with Mo, he always put in a shift. Assume KWP is carrying an injury. Bendarek is surprising, that is an error imo. He'll be blamed whatever happens. The less said about AMN the better. What is it with our managers and team selections.
  6. I would put zero pressure on Selles. He has to somehow settle everyone down and play a system. Good start with the press conference, that's settled the fan base down. I agree with a previous poster he has a touch of the Artetas about him. Arsenal stood by Arteta when the going was rough. We have to do the same. There will be grim games, tomorrow could be one of them. Roll with it. All I want is a sensible system, players in their correct position and some discipline. Looking forward to it.
  7. I hope this comes true now. Not for any flag waving for Marsch, but I have emotionally come to terms with it now. I'll end up being disappointed if it isn't him. We may stay up but chances are Saints will be relegated. I just get the feeling that with Marsch it won't be without a fight. In addition we'll be well set for a promotion campaign next year.
  8. No and hopefully he won't look. Every club has their share. Gotta get some positivity into the club.
  9. When the likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, and Bruce are in the mix, suddenly Marsch doesn't seem so bad. There isn't much choice at the moment, and Saints certainly aren't an attractive proposition in our current position. For me he ticks a few boxes and his positivity will definitely help. Bottom line is whether the players buy into his 'project'. They are the ones who have to actually win these games. Like most I'm persuading myself he'll be OK. I liked early Ralph's football and Marsch seems a continuation if that. He'll certainly get a good welcome from the fans by the very fact he isn't Jones.
  10. You've only got to read this thread to realise that whoever the board picks will annoy a section of the the fan base. It is frankly amazing that we all agreed on Jones. We aren't going to be attracting A grade managers. However the board need to get this right. Guarantee we'll be underwhelmed. Marsch seems an obvious choice for SRs model. Just have to go with it. Equally I could see Dean Smith, Chris Wilder, or a foreign manager of similar status popping up. They need to heal divisions and bring stability. That counts Gerrard out imo.
  11. My reason is that first I don't consider him useless, and his link up/holding/pressing is pretty good. I see him as a creator not scorer. I'm pretty sure Sulemana will score soon. Onuachu is still acclimatising, I'd bring him on early second half to cause havoc. My team selection was all about control and discipline. Something that has been missing for a few years!
  12. It's a case of first do no harm in the team selected. Above all else maintain discipline and don't panic. Caballero KWP DCC Salisu Perraud Orsic Lavia JWP Alcaraz Sulemana Adams Stay aggressive but maintain discipline, press off the ball, pass fast and accurate, encourage movement. Pull Chelsea around as much as possible. S Armstrong Edozie, and Onuachu at the ready to keep Chelsea thinking. I'd also protect Lavia. Sub with Diallo after 65 mins.] I'd also have Ballard on the bench. Send a positive message. He can have Bendareks place. Oh and levels of shithousery at an all time high.
  13. Bernese, lovely dogs, wore the shirt no problem. Bloody things only live seven years. Proper heartbreakers.
  14. Great news to wake up to. No need for the personal stuff against Jones. He was too inexperienced and too emotionally unstable for such a big job. He'll rise again. He was sacked when JWP took those free kicks, the way he did. As supporters we need to be sensible now. Saints aren't relegated yet, but the chances are high. So it is gung ho for the next 16 games. 5 points off safety is achievable, but it will need everybody pulling in the same direction. That means that even if it is Bruce or Marsch, we are going to have to swallow it and roar the team to survival. It really is the only way. I worry that the supporters having tasted blood will be on a short fuse now, but there lies ruin. Sensible team, sensible tactics please.
  15. What was that!
  16. Come on Prowsy a special will do mow
  17. And there it is, terrible defending
  18. Bendarek own goal what a surprise
  19. Just looking at the half time scores and I see Wesley Hoedt is playing for Watford. Bet he comes back to haunt us.
  20. Good to see Spurs getting beat but irrelevant to us I think. Leicester won't be down the bottom. It's perm 3 from Saints, Everton, Leeds, Bournemouth and Wolves . Possibly one other Just need to worry about our results atm
  21. For all the madness from Jones the one thing he did say that at least made sense was 'I'll do it my way'. Well obviously Nathan, can you imagine Fergie or Clough not doing it their way. It does at least look like a Jones team today. Way more aggressive and at them.... Good. Defence remains a shambles but hey its better.
  22. Bendarek absolutely done there. Nice to see AMN jogging back.
  23. Yay a snap shot, no two touches. Excellent
  24. Well I'm liking Sulemama straight away. Nice turn of pace there
