More working class people have lower levels of education, just as more foreign born, BME, disabled and poor people do. Its largely down to opportunity and expectations. However its also true that thick people tend to have lower levels of education. The causes arent the same. I think you're reading too much into a tongue in cheek comment about Brexiteers.
-
"Their"? You mean "your". I talked about the thick and old - it was you and mash who took that to mean working class. Careful how you go on that high horse thicky and oldy.

I'd like it to be a close vote to stay. That would give impetus to the reform movement within the EU and hobble moves to further integration and expansion. A big vote for stay would encourage business as usual and a big out would be disastrous.
-
Not really. If that were true level of education amongst older people wouldnt influence voting intention. It does - and to a greater extent than for younger people. George Osborne does need to go. He has been wrong about so many fundamental aspects of economic policy growth rates / austerity/ effect of new tax rates / forecasts he has no credibility and hasnt for years imo.

Excellent post. If you read the comments after the Mail story many seem to hark back to a golden age which really only existed in comparison to earlier rationing and austerity. Relative to other countries we fell behind. Many talk about building Britain's prosperity after WW2, but that was the period when we fell from being number 2 in the world economically to being behind Germany, France and others - who formed the common market in 1956. We only started to catch up again once we joined in 1973. Of course there were many other factors at work too but to deny the role of the EU is hard to understand.

Exactly. Its also interesting that if you go to the Mail article there is a map showing voting intention by local authority area. Its more random than you would expect - no obvious urban / rural or north / south splits. Leave areas are cheek by jowl with remain areas which would otherwise notionally seem similar.

Thanks for popping up, its how I view you. Sad you equate being working class with being thick. Btw I'm a Weston council house boy, dad was a docker and mum a dinner lady -if you want to trade creds.

The thick and old want to leave. The young and educated vote stay. It seems Saintsweb is representative after all. [/img] http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3546306/Are-neighbours-map-shows-Britain-s-coastal-regions-leading-charge-Brexit-graduate-towns-backing-EU-membership.html

Its not fair. The spend for both sides should be the same. However if someone argued that for a general election spending by the Conservatives should be linked to spend by other parties instead of by who has the richest supporters, you'd be the first to complain about lefty bias. .

They should report that fire escape. -
lol. You mean we are fifth strongest economy because of Europe. When we joined in 1973 Germany's GDP was double ours and France was 50% bigger - now Germany is only 30% bigger and we are ahead of France. http://en.classora.com/reports/t24369/general/ranking-of-the-worlds-richest-countries-by-gdp?edition=1973&fields=

...and has stagnated for 20 years. In 1996 its GDP was four times that of Britain, in 2006 its was double and in 2014 less than 50% bigger. The US, Britain, Germany et al have overtaken it in terms of GDP per capita

I read it. The post was about waste of money. Like most headbangers you werent able to comprehend what was written, reacting only to what you wish had been written.
-
So in order to protest about waste you wasted some more money sending it back. Brilliant. Brexit logic encapsulated.

Its all in the luck. Sherbet dip you need antibiotics after, sheep dip you want to keep quiet about but Daisy dip was good.

Its not often you see such a crap analogy posted up. Well done. A more accurate corollary would be refusing to let your kids play with any park users because a small minority might be paedophiles. -
and also unable to see the obvious fact that people will focus more on the actions of a government in power and responsible for tackling tax evasion than random politicians who arent in power and likely never will be.
