    I'm sorry to hear that
  3. Dunno but anyone can play
  4. Final response to you. Again you confirm your dimness by addressing a different point to the one made - that the UK Government failed to control infections effectively. You then compound that by not even understanding the stats and reports you have posted. You think the ONS contradict my points, they don't. Three examples. 1. The ONS are saying Britain had the second highest excess mortality rate in Europe for under 65s in 2020. That is a narrower stat than mine about cumulative covid deaths for all age groups since the start of the pandemic - but it is consistent with my point, it doesn't contradict it. 2. Excess deaths is a figure calculated from the five year rolling average FOR THAT COUNTRY. It has nothing to do with Brits having unhealthy lifestyles or obesity compared to other countries. 3. Nowhere do I "trumpet China as a 'much better' country than the UK". That is something that didn't happen but you nonetheless think you've seen - which essentially is the nub of your wider issues.
  5. No. Belgium for example is stricter than the UK. If it used the same measure the UK does it would have a lower death total
  6. Nope. You simply can't understand basics - like the difference between total deaths and snapshot death rates at one particular time. Everybody here knows your limitations and persisting with what you think are smart insights just make you look worse. For total cases UK is fifth worst of 153 countries behind Russia, China, Brazil and US - all with populations 2-20 times greater For total deaths UK is fifth worst of 153 countries behind USA, Brazil, Mexico and India - all with populations 2-20 greater For deaths per capita UK is fourth worst of 153 countries behind Czech Republic, Belgium and Slovenia The UK is unique in appearing in the worst 10 for all categories. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/
  7. For all the vaccine tug of war and the relative success Britain has had getting vaccinations done - it doesn't outweigh the huge fuckups in controlling infections. Britain will still end up with more dead per capita than almost every other country.
  8. Fair comment

I had mine last night. Not a fatty in sight. I think they only get priority if they have a BMI over 30, which is pretty damn fat.

There is also the issue of we're getting into the period where people will be getting second doses so the flow of 'new' people getting a shot will slow down markedly.
  11. Yes Cable usually had a sound view and interesting ideas. Its a pity he didnt get more time in Government.
  12. I think you're mixing two separate things up. There was an informal vigil all during the day where thousands of women turned up, laid flowers and quietly paid their respects. There was no trouble. Later a number of disparate organised groups with different agendas and a small number of women who had been at the earlier vigil turned up for the 9.30pm event which had failed to get a licence and had been cancelled. Thats when the trouble broke out as the police to break up a prohibited gathering. My issue is simply with the usual neanderthals who try and devalue and smear instead of actually reading and understanding what actually happened.
  13. Guess you better take it up with the future Queen of England who was there. But I'm sure you know better than her.
  14. Guess you guys will have to take it up with Ken Marsh, Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation who said "90% of those at the Clapham Common vigil on Saturday had walked away before it became a rally in breach of lockdown" But I'm sure you know better than him.
  15. Thats a whole different point - I never said having a mass gathering during a pandemic was a good idea. The point was simply that you cant hold people accountable for what others do because there will always be fringe groups who try and hijack mass events.
  16. Ffs. The organisers called it a vigil because it was a vigil. Some other people who wanted to protest turned up at the vigil. Short of waging a pitched battle for the soul and mission of the event, the vigil organisers deploying their light cavalry and field guns, what exactly do you expect them to do?
  17. True. It doesn't change the fact that you can't criticise people just because some attended a silent vigil, some demanded better rape laws and some who couldn't even name the victim hijacked the media story for a wacko political position that wouldn't otherwise garner attention or support. That's just dimwittery.
  18. Not hypocrisy. Just different people with different views attending the same vigil. Why is life so complicated?
  19. Where's the wanker emoji?
  20. Anybody think Eddie Howe might be tempted?
  21. Why. There is a difference between 22 kids in a park no-one knows about and 10,000 covered by national news. Just like 1,000 separate cars to to different B&Qs on a Sunday will be treated differently to an organised 1,000 car drive to a single B&Q.
  22. Political extremists, both left and right wing wing attach themselves to mainstream events in order to hijack the news. Why? because they would never get that publicity on their own. Its been around for at least 100 years so I'm amazed so many on here cant recognise it for what it is.
  23. There is no degree of gravity in any crime? No exacerbating factors? Wow that must be why every murder attracts exactly the same sentence. Every assault is exactly the same. Its that attitude that prevents more successful prosecutions. Most women probably wouldnt want their ex partner of 20 years and father of her two children to get 10 years in prison - which is why they don't testify. She might want him to get official censure, convicted and serve six months. But I'm sure you know best.
  24. They do. "In March 2015, IARC classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2A)" Linked to childhood leukaemia amongst other things. You remember, that stuff you berated the EU for controlling use of. Shall I blame you for peddling it? https://www.iarc.who.int/featured-news/media-centre-iarc-news-glyphosate/ https://www.npr.org/2019/05/13/723056453/california-jury-awards-2-billion-to-couple-in-roundup-weed-killer-cancer-trial https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jul/30/toxic-america-families-seek-answers-childhood-cancers
  25. Billionaires know everybody, especially when they live in the same city as Epstein, Clinton and Trump did. Politicians know everybody because they always need funds and support. That doesnt mean they know everything about them.
