Well a good number of the cabinet and Tory peers made considerable amounts of money from it. So there was certainly personal motivation to prolong the need for those contracts in this country.

Bairstow is a shambles of a wicket keeper. Great with the bat again against the red ball but couldn’t catch Covid in Wuhan in early 2020.

Surely the nostalgia must be for the football we played rather than the kit, because it’s fucking ugly.

Says the man that used the term “coconut”, refers to non-whites as “they” and called Priti Patel an immigrant. The only bigot on this forum is you.
-
We’ll see. You can’t just keep kicking the can down the road and expect it to work. They need top 4 next season or their plan is fucked before it’s even started.

We could have all the money in the world, we would have to break more rules than City have to find any sort of success in the league. We will never generate the revenue needed without selling players to legally spend the money needed to bridge the gap. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if we pushed the boundaries this season. Chelsea are also making a mockery of it and I doubt they’ll get away with it.

Some feat if they hadn’t built this success by breaking the rules. The treble *

It will annoy me til the day I die that we prioritised league games on Sundays over our Europa League games on Thursdays and what we potentially missed out on experiencing. To be fair we got to a cup final that season but we didn’t win it.

They are two completely different sets of circumstances, that might have something to do with it. Ched met the woman on a night out and slept with her the same evening. PS had known the lad since he was 11 and there is a possibility he was groomed. Not really that difficult to understand is it?

White with red worked for our last 2 promotions. Not so good this season of course.

It’s weirder to think he’s played with Claus and Oakley who joined the club 27 years ago and 29 years ago.
-
Said it before and I’ll say it again. I’d rather experience 08/09 again that this shit season we’ve just gone through.

Unless he’s the only one that’s staying and the rest were saying their goodbyes to him.

Oh the captain has finally remembered he’s a footballer has he?
-
I swear Firmino scores against us every time we play them.

Shame for Coventry. A similar sized club to ours that got run into the ground by SISU, they had to play their home games in Northampton and Birmingham and nearly dragged themselves from League Two back to the Premier League. Luton is obviously a better rags to riches story but have to feel for Coventry because that could have been us.

What planet are you on? You’re overestimating by £30-40m. We’re not a premier league club any more, we can’t just demand whatever we want because “we don’t need to sell them” these players are easy pickings, they won’t go for peanuts but they won’t be getting the sort of fees people are expecting.
-
Just me that’s expecting a good performance today and potentially even a win as our disgraceful squad finally put some effort in because they want to impress any potential new clubs?

Will we have a better transfer window than 2005?

Fucking helmet that got sent off in a friendly against Bournemouth just before the season started when we were already struggling for CB’s and we got dicked 4-1 by Palace as a result. -
I wish he would break ties with the club.
-
We needed that twice this season. What makes you think they’d get it right this time?

Spurs away was another solid come back performance the week after. We really were a very good side to end that season and then we let Koeman go to Everton. Didn’t we only finish 3 points behind 4th? -
I think people on here are vastly overestimating how much we’ll get for certain players. We’re a championship club with players that will be demanding moves, we hold little of the power when it comes to negotiations.

2 wins at Old Trafford were pretty good moments. Chelsea away under Koeman, 3-1. Some of the football under Poch was a joy to watch. That interchangeable front 3 of Lambert, JRod and Lallana were phenomenal at times.
