We've had this debate on another thread OBS and DD and I.......they felt I was totally wrong to have this 'commonsense' approach......so I agreed to differ. As I tried to get across (Unsuccessfully), that I would be made up if we got promoted, but equally, I would not be disappointed if we didn't. I tried to point out that ML has come in to this, with a long term plan, but these two fine gentlemen, seem to think that plan should be executed in a few weeks..........

Well said again.....alas there are those on here who want it now, and will ignore the commonsense approach.

I never said that we need Premiership players...read the post again. I have intimated, that any players we sign on longish contracts, should have the ABILITY to play in the premiership. This is only my viewpoint, I understand what you say about building separate teams....but, it is always hard to move on players. For example...the majority of players on our books, got us relegated. Many have said they are sh1te.........so should we get promoted, do we stick with them????. IMO no, so why want them in the first place. The players in the squad who have the potential to play two levels up, are the players we start building the team around. That is all I am pointing out.....there are quite a few players in the lower levels, capable of playing at a higher level.

Rumour has it, that the final payment was in the region of £20 million!!!......as I said, rumour.

I have posted before that we need to build for the Premiership. Most players are bought in on 2/3 year contracts.....therefore, any players signed, must be good enough for the CCC, and possibly higher. Otherwise we will have to change the squad (possibly) every season over the next 3 years. As we know, getting rid of players in contract can be a very hard thing to do.......so is JP Saeijs really Premiership standard??

You will be upsetting DD.......he dosen't like it when posters don't agree with his version of the future. For the record, that sounds like a good plan..... for Dulldays....I'd love it if we went up as Champions, but I'll leave it to AP.

Yeah right......their scoring ratio per match is very simalar....not!!!!. If that was a criteria, Crouch would be one of the most successful England strikers in recent years.

Lol at our fans........the man has been the owner for a few weeks and here we are, with some fans telling the Eithernet, that it is 'OUR CLUB'. Give him a chance FFS....it didn't exactly work out the 'shareholder' way, as one man dominated, and laughed at our feeble attempts to have a big say in 'OUR CLUB'. Duncan, again I respect you, but in all honesty, it has never been 'OUR CLUB'. We have never had any control. I think, and this is strictly my opinion, that ML will be the saving of this club. Ok......there seems no point debating this with you, as you appear incapable of grasping the finer point of what I'm saying. Go back to your telling AP to get his finger out And to ML to start spending Millions, because that's how you see success happening. Meanwhile, in the real world, those with a more understanding approach, will accept promotion with open arms, but will not be calling for a new Chairman and Manager, should that not happen this season.

Why is it, that you are missing everyone else's point other than your own. All on here, and throughout our fair city, would like to see us promoted as Champions next year, be in no doubt about that. However, some of us are realists, whereas you are coming across as a get rich charlie type of person. Do you honestly believe, that we wish to languish in the neither regions of the football league......get real man.

No.........some are accusing you of wanting a promotion winning squad, to be assembled in a week..........when the reality is, we have the dross that took us down last season. Give the man a break, and let him get on and build a squad....most realists on here have stated that a season of consoladation is what we expect, then a push for promotion next season. Anything else is a bonus..........but you seem to be in the 'I want it now' camp.

Right DD............from the outset ML has stated that it will be run as a business. The club will only use revenue, that it generates, however, he also said that money would be made available, should the manager require it. Reading some posts on here 'we are forth richest club in the country' etc etc, aligned with a few over the past few days, alluding to why we should spend, rather than pick up free transfers. Leads one to believe that there are indeed, some stupid posters, who are calling for money to be spent on better quality players than Div 1, to enable us to get promoted. Now my little skeptic friend, I know you are ashore at the moment, and appear to have a lot of time on your hands, so I'm sure you have a handle on most of the threads. This has been argued on quite a few of them.

And some post as if they are!!!!!!!!.......it has been said a thousand times on here, about running a tight ship, yet some still insist we spend multiple millions on players. You wouldn't think we had just come out of 'Admin'!!!!
