Only two changes from the team that started the 2nd half vs Aston Villa

Is that one of those deadlines enscribed into the side of a chocolate tea-pot?

Congratulations to one and all. Good to see the NHS is still firing on all cylinders

Agree to a certain degree re: Fox. I just feel the balance looked 'right' when Clyne switched to left back vs Villa. Might have been more "inspite of" than "because of" though I guess. I'm keen to see Mayuka get a start though (which is equally harsh on Rodriguez)

Robert Peston @Peston Dep gov of Bank of Eng, Tucker, backs paying bankers in the debt of their banks, to give them incentive not to bankrupt their institutions Seems sensible to me

BBC News (UK) @BBCNews Full details of UK unemployment figures, including 50,000 drop in jobless total and record number of people in work http://bbc.in/Tb0l1M "The number of people in employment has not been higher since records began in 1971. According to the ONS, employment measures the number of people in paid work and differs from the number of jobs, because some people have more than one job. "It's a real landmark to see more people in work than ever before," Employment Minister Mark Hoban said. "Despite the tough economic times, the private sector continues to create jobs and our welfare reforms are encouraging people to return to work - with 170,000 fewer people on the main out-of-work benefits than in May 2010." Nicholas Palmer from the ONS: "The total level of unemployment is the lowest its been since the spring of 2011" The government also noted that there were more job opportunities available, with the number of unfilled vacancies at 476,000, up 3,000 on the quarter and 17,000 from the same period last year."

Less than this I believe....

Ah, yep. Good point. It's always dangerous when I start commenting on something I know very little about!

Make up your own gags... @pn_neil_allen: #Pompey handed £2,500 FA fine after six players were cautioned against Crewe at the weekend.

I'm constantly amazed by the number of people that think giving more money to politicians to spend is somehow a good idea. Yes, give them just enough to be able to run the country efficiently but no more.
-
I did declare it was an uneducated guess!
-
They're not relying on that. They make a healthy 9 figure profit. They 'simply' declare that profit in another low tax country where they operate.
-
I had heard that the carrier pigeon was unwell.

Maybe BTF is suggesting governments don't poor half the taxes they receive down the drain on unnecessary projects, inefficient services and 'non-job' creation schemes ....you can always rely on politicians and civil servants to spend tax revenues wisely...

Can anyone actually forecast what would likely happen if the law was changed to 'force' the likes of Starbucks to pay the full amount of corporation tax on their UK based profits? Here's my guess: the share price would drop as investors look for better value for money elsewhere (nationally or internationally); my private pension fund shrinks because of the dip in share price; Starbucks hold back on opening some new outlets because they have less capital to invest; Starbucks employment rate recedes because of the above. I know next to nothing about how corporate finances work so maybe my 'what would happen?' guess is wide of the mark but it seems to have some merit on the surface. Any better guesses? Edit: I acknowledge the reining in of the likes of Starbucks, and any negative effects of that on the economy, could be offset by more independent coffee shops setting up business. So that just leaves my pension fund being buggered even more than it is already. Great... If only I worked in the public sector with a gold played pension that was immune to market forces...

Nah - the nation having a good old fashioned whinge about it on social media for 48 hours before moving onto the next bandwagon is the best approach...

Aren't they all related....?

oh-oh.....Appy's not gonna be 'Appy.... Kris Temple @kristemple Possible bad news for #Pompey fans from @neilmeldrumecho: Eddie Howe: "We would certainly think about recalling Wes Thomas"

No one forces people to go to Starbucks for a coffee. The great British public are as much to blame for feeding the nasty fat cat companies in the first place....vicious circle I admit...
-
I'm not against companies operating within the law. Neither am I against changing the law to stop companies operating in the way they do, as long as those changes don't disadvantage the UK in the international market place of course.
