Beram Kayal - £5m - from Celtic (linked in Telegraph)
trousers replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I initially thought the same but I guess we'd ideally have a like for like cover for each position / style. But that said, isn't Davis similar too? Hmmm...dunno -

Sounds like the sort of "Jimmy Case" character that we've been missing for years... -

Wiki says.... Style of play Kayal is a central midfielder but he is capable of performing various different roles within the position. He can play as a defensive midfielder, sitting in front of the back four and stifling the opposition or as a box-to-box midfielder, protecting the defenders as well as supporting the forwards. Although he is more renowned for his defensive capabilities than attacking, he is still able to contribute well to going forward.[34] Kayal is a tenacious, hard working midfielder, known for high stamina level, aggressive tackling and combatative edge, he also has great passing ability and quick feet.[34][35] Ex-Celtic and Israel midfielder Eyal Berkovic, described him as being: "Perfect for British football. He is strong technically, very aware but really competitive...He will have no problem adapting to the style in Scotland - he will love the speed and aggression.[36] -
@pn_neil_allen: @S13SFC @colinfarmery What an absolute disgrace there are people actually wanting a football club to remain in existence. Shameful. I'm tempted to reply along the lines of: Would you keep alive a family pet that was riddled with an incurable disease or would you put it out of it's misery and get another one to replace it?

Totally agree but, humans being human, doesn't every 'commentator' on a given topic have a vested interest in some shape or form? As much as I'm prone to play the Devil's Advocate card it would be good to see a completely independent view on the economy. Any volunteers?

I'm actually starting to disagree with myself. Which is slightly disturbing

Are you suggesting the Football League won't enforce the 5 years of financial scrutiny that they have imposed on the next owner? Actually, on second thoughts.....Football League? Enforce sanctions? Ok, you make a very good point sir. Let the hoodlums die!

Seems a little daft to keep one of the old seats at the end of each row, rather than extend all the way to gangway....unless they're using that as a natural barrier betwen the players and the fans?

West Ham on the verge of a "massive" signing... Ian Abrahams @Moose_talkSPORT West Ham aiming to make a massive signing - just checking if I can reveal who it is. This man is a striker,a current international, who played for his country this summer at Euro 2012- cant say who just yet but hopefully soon. The fee will smash our record to smithereens and is a sign of intent from the West Ham board
