One thing I've never understood about those events is why Crouch and/or MacMenemy never sued MacCloughlin for the alleged deception. What's not criminal about obtaining money in this way, not to mention the resulting artificial inflation of the share price? I'd also have expected the stock exchange authorities to be all over it like a rash too. Maybe they were and it was 'dealt with' behind the scenes...?
