  10. But what if this chap is really good and as a result gets the best return for tax payers in the long run? What does potentially cutting off our noses to spite our face actually achieve? I look at these things logically rather than ideologically. If this guy can get the best deal (net of his bonus) for us, the taxpayer, then so be it. By the same token, if he isn't all he's cracked up to be then don't reward him for failure. Simple.
  11. He damn well did

  14. Can you be sure he didn't delegate this task to Rosie?
  15. I'd like to think I wasn't the only forum member with a mediocre 1980s comedian behind their fridge, so fingers crossed for you...
  16. Question - is this CEO accelerating the recovery and turnaround of this company or not? If he is then it's a win-win for RBS and the taxpayer (and, as such, the furore about his remuneration is idealogical rather than logical) but if he isn't succeeding in turning the business around then he shouldn't receive any reward. Simple really.
  17. Toothpaste my arse
  18. This was quite a good thread 3 pages ago.
  19. Bobby Davro
  20. According to the London Gazette website, he's got several other admin and liquidation cases on his books. And there was me (and 14,000 others) assuming he was giving 100% of his attention to the perpetually solvent Portsmouth Football Club...
  21. @pn_neil_allen: Well I never! In total Harry Redknapp was #Pompey manager for 5 years and 5 months and signed 88 players. That's around 17 players a year!! Hmmm, I wonder why that was....
