  1. @jordansibley: For everyone asking about Season Ticket news, you don't have too much longer to wait. Keep your eyes on http://t.co/NAA95ooc today #saintsfc
  2. Good game this :-) Edit: although, point of order on the your retail price article.....the index mainly went down due to people having filled up their petrol tanks in the month before
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18173779 British defence giant BAE Systems has signed a $3bn (£1.9bn) deal with Saudi Arabia to supply Hawk trainer jets, the BBC has confirmed.
  4. Ok. You win. Trousers out foxed on an internet forum yet again.... I'll pop back in 12 pages to see how the thread is coming along
  5. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-weighing-up-paynter-move-1-3869981 "Pompey are eyeing up a move for Leeds striker Billy Paynter. The former Swindon man was put on the transfer list earlier this month. Despite a year remaining on Paynter’s contract, Leeds boss Neil Warnock is believed to be open to letting him leave for nothing in a bid to remove him from the Elland Road wage bill. The situation has alerted the Blues, with Michael Appleton seeking to rebuild his squad. Pompey’s manager is eager to recruit 18 new players this summer. And with his proven scoring pedigree in League One, Paynter fits the bill." Did I read that correctly....? 18?!
  6. "Struggling to cope"? And there was me thinking that it was only Verbal who paraphrases what I say in a way to make it sound more dramatic than the actual words used. Anyway, I agree with you...the sooner this is sorted the better as I'm not sure how much longer the local economy can tolerate the sleepless nights of its collective workforce...
  7. I've not spoken to Cortese recently so I'm as ignorant on the subject matter as you are...
  8. Who knows? Maybe Cortese is arsing around for the sake of it just to get the annual season ticket gripes thread up to its statutory 18 pages...
  9. Maybe, just maybe, we're taking a wee bit longer to make sure we get our pricing right because, of all the clubs in the premier league next season we're the team who hasn't been there for the longest period of time by some distance. Reading and West Ham had the advantage of dusting off their recent Premier League ticketing policies and the other teams simply had to rollover their existing prices. Saints are the only team having to create a policy from square one and I'm sure Cortese's priority is to make sure the policy is right rather than rushing it out for the sake of it. All very simple business principles.
  10. @pn_neil_allen: Emotional farewells from Henderson and Rocha in today's paper. Genuine and heartfelt, will make #Pompey fans respect them even more.
  11. One thing is for sure, these annual season ticket threads make great reading. Long may they continue. IMHO of course
  12. So, we're all in agreement then.... Cortese is a rubbish business man who doesn't know what he's doing. (but I can't say that in case it comes across as suggesting the Cortese is beyond criticism)
  13. Because this is an Internet message board and that's what people do on an Internet message board.
  14. @pn_neil_allen: Back of the net! Phone answered and we have backpage lead. Sadly I am not at liberty to reveal its nature. But it's a good 'un! #dayatthenews

  17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-18158226 The IMF report said that the UK had made "substantial progress" towards achieving a more sustainable budgetary position and reducing fiscal risks. Ms Lagarde, gave a strong endorsement to the government's actions: "The gain that resulted from the fiscal consolidation that was decided two years ago has been that result, the credibility of the UK government and its ability to borrow at extremely favourable rates. "Sometimes you feel like you could look back and wonder 'what if?'. And when I think back myself to May 2010, when the UK deficit was at 11% and I try to imagine what the situation would be like today if no such fiscal consolidation programme had been decided ... I shiver."
  18. Yeah...but that's enough about football....what about this darn flame?
  19. Oops....
  20. Getting the CVA figures 'wrong'? Easy mistake to make. You're initials aren't "AA" per chance....?
  21. Anyone on this thread got any ideas for solutions to this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?38142-Tommy-Forecast
  22. All of which makes the fact that the Football League are seemingly content with a meagre 10 point penalty for Admin1 a travesty. They never came out of Admin1 with a viable plan, hence Admin2, but the Football League rules are too blinkered to deal with failed CVAs.
