  2. He's a good poster on here TBH. They could do worse.
  3. Isn't the original intention of the PL parachute payments to protect a club from the reduction in FUTURE revenue caused as a result of relegation from the PL....? What Pomepy have done / are doing is using the PL parachute payments to plug gaps in PAST financial mis-management. Doesn't the PL have any rules that prevent clubs from "mis-using" the parachute payments? (*chortle*) Surely, if the parachute payments aren't being used for the purpose that they were created for then the system is inherently subject to abuse? (*chuckle*) Yours rhetorically (yet again)...
  4. Ed Milliband: "The consequence of their [the Conservatives'] failure is that the next Labour government, if it's elected in 2015 will inherit a deficit"

  6. Take it as a badge of honour. Most people have been "MLG'ed" at some point in their SaintsWeb Forum career. Even someone as erudite and meticulous as me as been caught out before if memory serves me correctly. ;)
  7. First rule of negotiation....feign lack of interest...
  8. Saints Web Forum in 'not everybody likes the same TV programmes discovery' shocker
  9. What flight number? Cheers :-)
  10. But...but....but....according to some of my more rational 'friends' on the internet last month he's an overpaid drain on public money....getting paid less than 1% of Top Gear's revenue must surely be a typo or something. Innit.
  11. Yep, just read that in the comments on the Guardian article posted above. But that doesn't feel quite right to me. Surely something as emotive as 'nationalism' should be decided by those who have said nation 'in their blood and/or hearts' rather than something as aribitrary as where they happen to live at a given moment in time? Isn't that what the SNP ethos is all about? i.e. it's all about the Scottish people and what they want as a nation? Yes, I know that there will be non-Scots who have moved to Scotland and now count themselves as Scottish as a natural Scot does but, if I was Scottish I would question the logic of non-Scottish people having a say IF it was decided that the UK as a whole didn't get a say.
  12. I respectifully disagree. I don't think it's ridiculous to ask the opinion of anyone who is potentially affected by something.
  13. And, on the flip side, would non-Scots living permenently in Scotland get a say?
  14. Would a Scottish person living permenently in England (or elsewhere for that matter) get a vote in a 'Scots only' referendum, do we know? (genuine question, as I've no idea, but you can probably see where I'm going depending on the answer)
  15. Exactly. Somewhat ironically, it would probably be in the SNP's interests to ask the question of the UK as a whole.
  16. I can.... If Scottish indepenence has a 'significant' effects on someone living in, say, England, then they should have a democratic say in their change of life, surely? Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily saying there will be a significant effect to anyone living outside of Scotland (maybe there will, maybe there won't).....all I'm saying is IF it did then it's only logical that you should canvass the views of all those who would be affected. Yours logically.
  17. Or, to put the stats another way, c.25% of people eligible to vote in the Scottish elections last year voted for the only party advocating independence. Ergo c.75% of the Scottish electorate chose not to vote for the SNP in the Scottish elections.
  18. It seems "fair" to me that any break up of the United Kingdom should be decided by everyone in the United Kingdom who would be affected by said break up. That's simple logic IMHO. If Londoners decided they wanted to break away from England would it be "fair" if, say, those of us living in Hampshire had no say about it?
  19. Funnily enough (or perhaps sadly enough!) I looked that up this morning and there are threads out there with 250,000+ posts... Some way to go yet.... :-)
  20. Is it purely coincidence you've scheduled this for exactly the same time we're due to announce Michael Owen?
