  1. This is it in a nutshell. They are trying to use VAR to solve a problem that doesn't exist. You're totally right: people have lost sight of why the offside rule exists in the first place, i.e. to prevent strikers taking the piss, which a lino is quite capable of deducing with the human eye. Measuring it to the nearest millimetre is missing the point entirely.
  2. That video also nicely highlights why the current system and process used by the Premier League for offside decisions isn't fit for purpose, i.e. it isn't suitable for marignal decisions due to video frame rates. Which begs the question why the PL ever sanctioned the use of such a flawed system in the first place....
  3. A very touching story Jeyyy, thanks for sharing. Your father sounds like a wonderful man ❤️ As someone else said, its a shame this isn't on the main Saints section of the forum where more people are likely to see it (wonder if the mods can move it? @Lighthouse?) Would also be good if someone on here with connections in the club could make them aware of Jeyyy's father's story as it would be great if they could do something for Jeyyy and his family next season....
  4. Does he dabble in rocket science too, per chance....?
  5. Yep, this. I can recall several games where the likes of Dibling and Amo-Ameyaw were on the bench and we were cruising to a win with 10-15 minutes to go and we bring on the likes of Mara or Sulemana for a pointless cameo when we could've given the youngsters a bit of game time.
  6. They did automatically get asterixed out on here once upon a time. **** knows why they ****ing don't any ****ing more....
  7. Spoiler alert...we all know it's going to go to penalties and we'll go out as Jack Stephens launches the last spot kick into row Z... #youhearditherefirst
  8. Yeah, best to keep that kind of language to the school playground...
  9. Nothing more annoying than certain Facebook memories that pop up on one's timeline...
  10. Don't the two scenarios go hand-in-hand? i.e. if there's no DoF then it's inevitable that Rasmus would have to fill the void...?
  11. Not forgetting they were also the team that set the Hassenhuttl downfall in motion by walloping us 4-1 that time (the previous season?)
  12. How's the golf going up there in Glasgow....?
  13. Life savings on a Saints victory then?
  14. I'm no psychologist, but couldn't this pre-match bus 'parade / welcome' malarkey backfire on us? Could it make the team more nervous / on-edge than they might otherwise have been had it been treated as 'just another game'...? (Countering my own thoughts, I appreciate it could be a good 'dress rehearsal' for Wembley, thus getting the players used to all the hoo-hah.... if we get there, of course....)
  15. Just logged on to post my thoughts on this fella.... more spin than a 'Dead or Alive' record...! They should've had Jason Beer interogating this bloke.... would've tron him to shreds. Blake is a bit too 'nice' for my liking...
  16. We lost the same number of games as Leicester City, the league winners. Our defeats just happened to occur in bunches rather than being spread out.
  17. Meanwhile, back on topic...
  18. @Harold K Steptoe any kit news sir?
  19. From a tweet about a month ago where the poster declared it was concept design...
  20. It's almost as if human beings often use selective memory to back up their point of view...
  21. I still maintain that the fabled "unbeaten run" was a factor in us not achieving automatic promotion... ("Trousers, you're an absolute buffoon for airing such nuthousery on an otherwise sane internet football forum")
  22. Always happy to disagree I even got 9 likes which is almost unheard of for someone who talks as much nonsense as I do...
  23. This is the biggest disappointment for me this season.... Having gone down a league I was hoping it would give more opportunity to our 'rising stars', such as Dibling, Amo-Ameyaw and Bragg, but, if anything, the opposite has been true. In the brief cameo(s) we've seen from Dibling, it does seem somewhat baffling how someone like Mara is effectively blocking his path into first team contention. He couldn't be any worse, surely?
  24. Given there's only 19 days between the play off final and the start of the Euros, I'm wondering if there's an outside chance of Stu being available for the final, if we were to make it to Wembley... (Based on Martin saying at the time that Stu's injury wasn't as bad as they first feared and that he was hopeful he could be ready for the Euros.)
  25. Good to see you back MLG 👍
