  1. Shame....
  2. Indeed. I see on their weather forecast page they're predicting rain for sometime in September. I'm off to Ladbrokes. Back in 10.
  3. Apologies for wishing to know the name of a key supplier to one of my services providers... ;-)
  4. I believe there is a feature to switch off signatures, from the viewer's perspective, regardless of whether they are allowed globally?
  5. I'll leave MLG the honour of posting the exact stats, but the Daily Fibber, sorry, Mirror, printed c.20 definitive articles over c.12 months saying that Chamberlain was on his way "imminently". They were right once in 20 attempts... To coin a phrase...my broken kitchen clock was right more often than them during the "Chamberlain's off" saga...
  6. At last. We all agree. Phew. Thread closed? :-)
  7. Isn't it more cost effective to give your money more directly to those who need it (aka charity donations) rather than funnel it through a series of beaurocratic government departments (aka tax)?
  8. I'm still mildly astounded that people think that politicians and civil servants are the best people to spend as much of our money as possible. I'm renting out barge poles at a reasonable rate.
  9. I don't buy it....I loot it...it's all the rage...innit
  10. But I thought the 'footballing authorities' insist upon a legally binding CVA as part of their criteria of seeing one of their clubs go through the administration process. I seem to recall reams on here about this when we went into admin. In other words....points deducted for going into admin AND further points deducted for not having a serviceable and binding CVA? No? As I say, I've probably list the plot by now!
  11. This has got 0-0 written all over it
  12. Don't the 'footballing authorities' have more point penalties at its disposal if one of their clubs doesn't meet the obligations ("promises"?!) of a CVA? If Pompey's argument against this is that they are now a wholly new company and/or football club, why didn't they have to reapply to join the English football system at a lower tier. Either they are the same club as before or they're not? (sorry for probably going over very old ground here, but not been keeping up with developments of late)
  13. And not raising it to 60% has the same effect... I know "tax cut" is more emotive terminology for those who oppose the move to remove the 'temporary' 50% tax rate but "normalising" or "levelling" are less inflamatory and realistic descriptions. I'm amazed at the number of people who trust politicians (of all colours) and civil servants to spend our money more wisely and efficiently than we can do ourselves.
  14. What's the name of this company that I now have a financial stake in?

  16. Non-members can start threads
  17. It can only be a good thing that 'non-western extremists' (Muslims in this case) are embracing a concept such as 'free speech'. The more 'Western' ideals they extol the better as this will lead to greater integration of society.
  18. The almighty SaintsWeb Forum Opinion Police have spoken. Sigh. (edit: looking back, I agree with elements of the post in question, but not all of it.)
  19. ^Agree with this post
  20. Cortese or the OP? Or...perhaps the OP is Cortese...? :-)
  21. Quite agree. I was simply questioning someone's comparison of two different types of potentially dangerous situations, by suggesting that one activity was less essential than the other and thus more avoidable. But, as others have said, not really the thread to be going into the technicalities, so apologies for that.
  22. Crossing roads is a slightly more essential activity than milling around a town centre amidst drunk and violent people.
