  1. I suspect the question was being posed in the context of Pompey not having any players they couldn't afford this time around... ;-)
  2. Good to see my tax payments going to a good home ;-)
  3. All things considered, my reply is "yes". Although I had a similar gut feel when Jason Euell signed for us. I never did work out whether that was a good or bad gut feel...
  4. What's love but a second hand emotion?
  5. Can someone change the thread title from "Vassell" to "Petty Squabbles" please? It's very misleading. I assumed the thread would be about the footballer Darius Vassell but can only see a few posts out of #94 on that subject. I wouldn't like others to be equally caught out and spend half their life reading about something else. Thanking you.
  6. But to counter-balance that, he's available on a free transfer. So, if Cortese has set himself an average budget per new player of 'sign-on fee + wages' then someone like Vassell could cost the same as say Dickson, Barnard, Lambert, etc, in net value terms over a two or three year contract.
  7. First Saints player with a 'j' in his surname whose first name is also a French town?
  8. A valid view, but I guess that is what the AGM is for....submitting such views via the appropriate channels to ensure your view is represented?
  9. They may as well include the programmes from the last game for the season in the same mailshot, assuming they're ready now....
  10. Thinking about it, this could actually be a two-fold blessing in disguise.... (a) If he's injured it will go some way to putting off any speculative bids from NPC or Prem sides. and (b) it may convince Cortese/Pardew that they need a better quality player to cover Lallana's position than perhaps they were originally thinking Maybe.
  11. Yep, plenty of video production companies out there that could do the conversion for you.
  12. Could just be sloppy use of the English language but why use the word "would" (which implies a "but...") when using "will" was the more definitive option? e.g. Are you going to the party? I would go (but....) Yes, I will go
  13. Or maybe too many backward summersaults into the canal?
  14. Hmmm....
  15. Lulled.into.a.false.sense.of.security
  16. Source?
  17. The article is saying that 70% of Saints use saintsfc.co.uk as their first port of call for Saints news. This doesn't necessarily mean that the other 30% "don't use" (quote/unquote) the official site in any shape or form. They may just not use it as their first port of call for Saints news.
  18. And there was me led to believe that Labour had spent billions on the NHS.... ;-)
  19. Sitting on top of a hill in Farmborough. Same display taking place at 15:44 here
  20. Why couldn't we make it up? I pretty sure we could if we tried...
  21. Disagree. Apart from the national anthem bit.
  22. Have 'Scotland' issued Libya with a recall request yet? If not, why not?
  23. or a baboon sanctury
