  1. A loss of life is obviously sad, but am I the only one who thought her 'talent' was over-rated?

    Oslo blast

Dune was stating what several reports were saying at the time. Those reports turned put to be wrong. Not sure why Dune should retract a statement that was accurately reflecting what some media reports were saying at the time?
  3. Saints are delighted to announce that they have today completed the signing of Belgian winger Steve De Ridder for a significant undisclosed fee. The 24 year old arrives from top flight Dutch side De Graafschap, and is somewhat of a coup for the Club, as a host of top flight European sides were also chasing the winger's signature. A right footed attacking player who can play naturally on either wing, De Ridder arrives at St Mary's having signed a three year contract, and will offer the squad some proven top flight experience in the wing areas. De Ridder - which translates to "The Knight" - has become a firm fans favourite during his time with De Graafschap, and is known for his lightening quick speed, tremendous crossing ability and tendency to score remarkable goals. "I have got a great first impression about this Club, I have already been treated so well since I arrived and it has given me a lot of confidence. I hope to pay that back on the field. "As soon as I arrived here I was convinced that this was the right move, this is a big adventure for me and I am looking forward to it. The Chairman showed me a video all about the Club and I was sold straight away. "I played with Jan-Paul Saeijs in Holland and he told me that when he was here it was the best time of his life, so I am curious about what is in store for me!" Manager Nigel Adkins was equally satisfied to have completed the deal. "Steve is a young, hungry player who wants to keep developing and that is what attracted us to him. He is an attacking player who has played on both flanks and up top and has the ability to make things happen. "From what we can see his attitude is very good and he desperately wants to maximise his potential, which is underlined by his industrious style of play. "The thing that struck me about him was that he was so hungry for success and respectful of where he is coming to. Steve wants to work hard to be part of the group of players that we have here and has bought in to the vision of where we are going. "All credit to Nicola because he has worked really hard behind the scenes to get the deal completed."
  4. Sigh
  5. You've been a forum member for 5+ years and you thought that....? ;-)
  6. TBF, there were Burnley fans saying similar things about us before we signed Cork. Although the above about Pompey is more accurate of course :-)
  7. I did think "Barnard gets 3 years" would have been a more amusing thread title....
  8. If The Echo have categorical evidence that Chamberlain has been fined, why don't they specify how much?
  9. Sounds like they're gonna force him down the 'transfer request' route in the hope he'll decide to stay put rather than lose any bonuses due...
  10. They say this lad has eyes in the back of his head....
  11. Semi-legal internet live stream anyone?
  12. Gerard Houllier OBE OBE? Que?
  13. Well oil be damned....
  14. Good news. Interview on Saints Player too. First time I've heard him asked directly in an interview about last year's "incident".
  15. Full name: Jack Frank Porteous Cork Porteous? *rubs eyes*
  16. Out of curiosity, why the 'uneven' split? (i.e. 8 games in part 1 and 15 in the 2nd part)
  17. So, nothing stopping the 'rogue element' that cancelled latter installments in previous years doing the same thing now if they have received a full book in error? Bit of an own goal it would seem.
  18. Guinness is a poor man's porter IMHO. Much prefer the original English porters than the Irish copies.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porter_%28beer%29
  19. Or....negotiating terms on a possible departure?
  20. I would venture that the FA's hands are somewhat tied by a European 'freedom of movement' employment law or suchlike...
  21. Oh well. He'll be company for Mr Puncheon for the remainder of pre-season (and beyond?) I suppose....
  22. No. Who do you think we are? Matthew Le God? ;-)
  23. Anything from those cheap conveyor-belt 'restaurants'....Beefeater, Harvester, Brewers Fayre, Hungry Horse, etc - you know the ones...a Pompey supporting friend may have dragged you to one once as a "one step up from McDonalds" special treat.
