Bloody Tories!! That's me a grand worse off a year then. Since when did I vote for robbing from the supposedly "rich" to give to the "poor"? FFS That's it, I'm voting Labour next time....

Indeed. I was fully expecting to logon this morning to find only chief detective constables logged onto the Saints forum..... ;-)

Rumours of Saints player being arrested after trouble?
trousers replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
Good to see the Saintsweb Forum breaking the news 12 hours before the meeja.... -
At least this removes any doubt whatsoever that we need to bring in another quality forward. If Cortese was waivering over whether to splash out more cash on another forward then this incident (if he's found guilty) may well turn around our favour. I know, I know.....clutching at the straws of optimism somewhat but fate is a fickle mistress.

Rupert Lowe did Good Things while he was at the club - discuss

Yep....this is a crucial difference. SLH and SFC were deemed to be one and the same thing. If Liverpool's "holding company" has significant other subsideries under it (one of them being Liverpool FC) then they will be OK I believe. Mr Lowe's mistake in coming up with the holding company 'ruse' was not to buy a significant other subsidery to run alongside SFC under SLH. Well, that's my understanding anyway....

P.s. Tell us where you got the rumour from and we'll tell you whether there's any truth in it... ;-) -

I'm surprised he survived as long as he has TBH. One would have thought an obvious candidate for a golden handshake when the new owners took over would have been the finance director at the helm when the club went into administration. Not an opinion, just an observation. -
No. Read it again. (the simple bit, not the really complicated bit) Nice wind up by the way. We were all taken in. We thought you were serious for a minute.... ;-)

It's all very simple, although perhaps a little challenging for some people to grasp... I'll therefore explain it as uncomplicatedly as possible: My cousin is a Bournemouth fan He couldn't get a ticket for the game (because lots more Bournemouth fans than usual wanted to go to an inconsequential away game for some reason...) He phoned me to ask if I was going. I said, no, I hadn't planned on going but could get us a couple of tickets if he fancied it. He said ok. I bought a couple of tickets. The attendance figure went up by two. Now, here comes the complicated bit.... Being born and living near Dorset (as one does) and having friends and family in the area, the chances of me (and no doubt many others) receiving an off the cuff "fancy going to the game?" phone call are much greater for a 'local' game than receiving a similar phone call about the Saints vs Rochdale game (for example) Hope that helps? So, end of 'debate' then? Yes: there were boos Yes: it was tongue-in-check Yes: it's been blown out of proportion Yes: there is no story here (conspiracy theories aside) Yes: Let's let bygones be bygones and all get behind a successful remainder of the season for the team we ALL support Yes? -
Actually, that's sounding almost ideal!

Maybe the best way to guage people's opinion is to ask: "looking at their league status over the last 5 years, which football club would you most like ours to be like?" Top 6 prem side? Man Utd, Chelsea, etc Mid table prem side? Fulham, Everton, Bolton, etc Yo-yo prem/championship side: West Brom, Middlesboro, Derby, etc Me? Fulham

Logistics aside, how about a 'pay as you go' system as the fairest solution? e.g. 10p a post (first 3 posts each day are still free); bill settled monthly by DD -
Hmmmm....very astute post......and I've tried to come up with an answer but can't! (which perhaps helps explains the 'divisions' even further: If I, as an individual, can't decide what I want then it's a sure fire case that the fan base as a whole can't!)

But is Tony dropping a hint that he's heard something concrete to this effect or, like the rest of us, is he simply airing an educated guess? -

If the good agents were actively doing all they could to weed the bad agents out of their industry then I would be sympathetic. Perhaps they are? Is there an agents association that provides industry code of conduct certification for example?
