  1. Tapatalk is bombing out quite often on the iPhone after the last app update I downloaded last week. Seems to happen every few seconds on some threads but stable on others.
  2. Out of curiosity, did your 'partial informants' know (or have an inkling) who Cortese had lined up to replace Pardew had he gone ahead with his 'plan A'? (I'm not asking you to reveal the name...just curious to know if there WAS someone lined up....I have my own theory...) Cheers
  3. Spooky. As I was reading through your post I was hatching a reply along the lines of your last sentence. I don't think we need to overburdon the introduction of technology with reams of rules as to what it covers and what it doesn't. As you say, put the ball in the captain's court. Each captain gets three appeals for 'any' refereeing decision and that gets referred to the 'tv ref'. In other words, keep it simple. Win win
  4. Yes, of course it could have been. I've never said otherwise. But just because the communication hasn't been great doesn't equate to a vast majority of Saints fans being up in arms about it. I could be wrong, and happy if someone can actually quantify the level of significant dissatisfaction amongst the Saints fan base as a whole.
  5. I once met Bruce Forsythe in the toilets at The Crusting Pipe in Covent Garden
  6. You don't know how close I came to editing that as soon as I read it back.....but then couldn't be arsed.... ;-)
  7. Virtually all Saints fans I have spoke (sic) to think withdrawing the repayment plan at short notice isn't much to be concerned about in the general scheme of things. I guess it depends with whom one talks to.
  8. Post #14 before this gets hijacked by the season ticket police ;-)
  9. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article7070442.ece (mods - apologies if I've cut and pasted too much from that Times Article - just felt it gave some balance to the thread if posted as a direct quote rather than via a link)
  10. "Great minds...." etc.... :-)
  11. *cough* Dear landford.saint, Please can we agree how we are measuring the level of annoyance BEFORE we start talking about the things that are annoying. That way we know whether we are talking about a storm in a tea cup or a significant issue amongst the fan base as a whole. Regards, Trousers
  12. When did you first start telling people on here....? ;-)
  13. I understand where you're coming from but what stats are we using to measure the "annoyance" levels that some people are perceiving? This forum has a quorum of about 10 people (give or take) that have taken significant exception to 'developments' on the ticket sales side of things. However, there has also been anecdotal evidence from others that if you talk to Saints fans outside of the voiciferous online community then there doesn't appear to be much 'unrest' out there. As I say, what's the benchmark we are using here to measure these perceived significant levels of dissatisfaction? The vocal minority or the silent majority?
  14. My understanding is that the bank of England is legally obliged to honour all banknotes presented to them for 'payment' regardless of any 'legal tender' dates that are set? There is, after all, no expiry date on our banknotes (aka IOUs)

  17. Exhibit A: the number of people who spend half their life on Facebook bemoaning the benefits system and how they're incapable of working, blissfully unaware of the irony that quite a lot of jobs involve sitting in front of a computer all day...
  18. http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/annual_report/our-business/chairman.html c.£226m paid to the treasury in 2009 compared to the c.£37m they receive from the tax payer (c.61 pence per person per year) And then there's the indirect money they bring in. All very good value for money IMHO
  19. Pompey's end of year accounts
  20. You heard it here first....
  21. How much earlier is this than 'normal'?
