  1. These bookings and injuries are a blessing in disguise. Should hopefully tip the balance into convincing Cortese to go that extra mile in the negotiations for other players. Although, of course, the other teams we are bidding for players from will know that and nudge their valuations up a notch....
  2. Indeed. The main thing that got me last year (apart from the crap management and adminstration obviously...) was the lack of passion and (relatively controlled) aggression from our players.
  3. Testosterone. HTH
  4. Just checked my top trumps set and daily mail beats daily echo on all categories apart from 'best cute puppy stories'
  5. Barnard to Leeds for £250k. Daily Mail

  7. It's helpful that we don't have a league game on Saturday as this gives Pardew the opportunity to play a full strength side (cup tied player excepted). If we had a league game on Saturday I trust that Pardew would rest a few of our key players as we should still be concentrating on the league 100%
  8. Ah....scrap that....more up to date news: http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/4858304.Barnard_should_be_fit_to_face_Wycombe/?ref=rss
  9. Erm....perhaps this is the reason for the cheap price tag.... http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?t=57546 http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/4855588.Barnard_suffers_ankle_injury/?ref=rss
  10. Yep, he'll do....quick.....on the blower to Coppell....

  13. "Saints trust coach to mk dons" Given the bad weather being forecast for Wednesday I'm not sure trusting a coach to get them there is the best policy to be honest.
  14. It was just an idea from a lonely internet forum chum.... I just think having someone in the midfield who is in the 30-35 age bracket who's "been there, done that" and fancies a challenge in the twilight of his career is worth a shot. I guess Wotton fits the age bill but I'm talking more of an accomplished figure who would cost a few bob more.
  15. I know a 'lady' called Rhonda who may be able to help out with that one...
  16. Talking of realism, Didn't Pardew say just before Xmas that he now thought the playoffs were a 'realistic' target this season? If he did indeed say/think that then not to do it this year would now be a disappointment by logical deduction. if he didn't say it then apologies. All I do know is that next season is going to be one big pressure trip for our players if the expectations of this thread are anything to go by! Since when has anything been a fate acomplis aboard the good ship southampton?
  17. we've only got your word for that...
  18. Why would Holmes cross the ball if there was no-one in the box? Was he crossing it to early or was he taking it to the byeline and still no saints players in the box?
  19. Question: Would acquiring Stock vastly improve our chance of reaching the playoffs this season?
  20. Yes, i would have prutton back. But isn't the more important question: "has Hammond stopped playing like he did at Colchester through a simple drop in form or has pardew changed the way he naturally plays? Perhaps pardew has told him to hold back to try and help reinforce our defensive cover? Who knows?
  21. Quashie? "In November 2009 Quashie joined League One side Milton Keynes Dons on loan until 3 January 2010" Now 'available' again after latest loan spell it would seem...
  22. Was that Seabourne who headed the punt up field across the front of his own penalty area?
