  1. Look. For what it's worth NC asks valid questions about the 'MLT epidode'. Matt is one of my childhood heros and that will never change. But I 'm not blinkered enough to rule out questioning the great man. I'm 75% through Reading his book and it makes me proud and cringe in equal measures. Sometimes on threads like this it's difficult to distinguish one side of obsession from t'other. IMHO of course
  2. this one isn't negative towards him or saints but doesn't paint a wonderful picture either. I'm not saying he won't do a job for us though... "TBF go back a 6/7 months and Connolly was getting dogs abuse on here and people were saying we should pay off his contract, injured or not etc and there was loads of venom towards him when things weren't going so well. Despite not many people realising around that time he was somewhere in Holland desperately trying to prove his fitness to a club. I think since then a few may have cottoned onto the fact injuries have probably ruined him and he's been lucky to get a club after failing a trial at QPR among other places."
  3. Wasn't that his 'human zoo' show? Classic. Tommy is still broadcasting similar shows, albeit on Internet based radio. It's a crying shame we've so little free speech on radio. All the best hosts end up getting the sack. Jeremey beadle did a superb late night show too (LBC I think). Caesar the Geezer anyone...?!
  4. Put Le Tissier's name up on the next poll and I assure you he will get a higher percentage than that....
  5. What is is with Our Kelv and positional play?
  6. Liebheer OUT ! Liebherr IN !
  7. "Even the Premier League have yet to meet the man who has already passed their fit and proper persons test. All Al Faraj needed to demonstrate to be welcomed into English football was that he is allowed to own a company, has no history of insolvency, has not been convicted for theft or fraud and is not involved with another football club." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1218613/Pompey-saved-But-does-know-Ali-Abdullah-Al-Faraj-actually-is.html#ixzz0TFl8eCS3
  8. Southern area? Norwich is further north than Birmingham FFS... FACT
  9. Found him.... http://www.linkedin.com/pub/ali-al-faraj/14/10b/a82
  10. “All I can tell you is what I know about the guy,” Storrie said. “They were the people I was talking to before [when he tried to secure a deal for al-Faraj to buy the club in August, only for Gaydamak to sell to al-Fahim]. They appear to have considerable assets and they’re immediately putting finance into the club. “From everything I know about the guy, he seems very fit and proper" Hmmm...I wonder why Storrie doesn't use definitive wording....?
  11. No Gillett on the poll? As one of his sponsors I wanted to vote for him even though I wasn't there. What's the point of a poll if it can't be rigged....?
  12. At least this sorry episode and my part in it will help sell my autobiography in years to come. Working title: Caught With His Trousers Down
  13. I'm off to the local police station to hand myself in
  14. Thread titles you never thought you'd see, Volume 1: "Saints vs Torquay - JPT Matchday thread"
  15. Threads that people may regret raising...part 2.... ;-)
  16. Suggest we cross that bridge when the time comes. Can be filed away in "nice problem to have" tray IMHO
  17. Intentionally or otherwise, don't Southend gain a small(ish) advantage over the course of a season by playing a significant portion of their home games on a Friday night? (a) their players are more used to playing at that time of the week and (b) away teams are likely to have less supporters than on a saturday due to work committments and other logistical issues perhaps? It would be almost interesting to see how southend's Friday night win ratio compares to their Saturday home game win ratio
  18. Rudi Skacel (well, he will be as soon as news comes through that he's signed at long last)
  19. "Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency said 83,712 houses, 200 public buildings and 285 schools were destroyed. Another 100,000 buildings and 20 miles of road were badly damaged. Five bridges collapsed. A full death toll has not yet been calculated. The government at one point said 715 were dead and 3,000 were missing. But Sunday it changed its tally to 603 killed, with another 960 missing and believed dead."
  20. Posting logic on here don't get you very far FF ;-)
  21. It's only football....
  22. "Club Captain Kelvin Davis believes that the players being able to be able to run out of the tunnel and see the red and white army outnumbering away fans behind the goal will act as a huge psychological boost." Erm, but Kelvin, you don't run out to that end either for the pre-match warm up or before the start of the game....
  23. Fair point, well made...
  24. In any role at the club, Keegan would add another 4 figures to the match day gate and bring a new level of buzz to the club. People can quote facts and figures to back up the 'no and 'yes' camps until the cows come home, but at a humanistic level, Keegan, in any role, would bring nothing but a good feel vibe to the club.
