What has surprised me most about this episode is that no one in the media or world at large has seemingly picked up on Brown's biggest gaffe. Not the bigot quote; not the instinctual blame diversion to his advisors; not the contempt for 'ordinary' voters' views but the very fact that he thought the discussion with the woman had gone badly. I actually thought he handled his 'first' real/unrehearsed punter quite well. The fact Brown even thought it was a "disaster" tells me all I need to know about his judgement capabilities. That was his biggest gaffe IMHO

Slightly interesting observation.... I didn't see Cameron on TV on the campaign trail at all yesterday. I'm surprised the media didn't seem to squeeze a quote from him on the Brown faux pas. I guess the Tories are taking the view that less is more in terms of the impact of their reaction to yesterday's events

The tragedy for me is that when you see Mrs Duffy walking back home after the friendly chat with Mr Brown, she has no loaf of bread. Givem that's all she went out for, what a wasted journey.

Just watched his post-apology interview to the media. He just doesn't know how to stop grinning when he's trying to sound sincere, does he? Which words did he mis-hear I wonder?

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Mandy hatched this whole stunt...? "Brown shows he's human, visits lady's house and she says she'll vote labour afterall...." Hmmm...anyone smell spin?

What's the betting Brown's poll ratings actually go up as a result of this...?

I'm more interested about what his off the cuff comments tells me about the personality of the man currently running the country. But that's only my opinion to be fair....

How do you know the others have said similar things but not been caught? At least we can agree on one thing that this quite entertaining

Best ask Brown why he's "profusely" apologising about something that is defendable I guess....
