  3. What, Saints score 5 at home twice in one season?!
  4. Ah, ha......so, both Bourton and Hull were flooded in July 2007, resulting in both SaintLee and Jonah disappearing off the face of the Earth for weeks on end.... I knew all these takeover clues would come together in one simple explanation eventually. Trousers dear boy, you're talents are seriously wasted here.

  13. Fits in timing wise. Are you able to give a hint as to your source?
  14. Luciano Gaucci (Perugia) Among Gaucci’s maddest moments are trying to sign a female player, sacking South Korea’s Ahn Jung Hwang for scoring the goal that put Italy out of the 2002 World Cup and playing Serie A’s worst ever player who also happens to be Colonel Gaddafi’s son. Needless to say the club are now in bankruptcy. Jesus Gil (Athletico Madrid) The former Athletico Madrid chairman passed away in 2004 but during his 17 year reign of terror he managed to get through 39 managers, 80 court cases and threatened to ‘kill’ his players a total of three times. He was also notorious for his right-wing views and has spent time behind bars. Vladimir Romanov (Hearts) Often referred to as ‘the man who has broken Hearts,’ the Lithuanian (ahem) banker is renowned for short relationships with staff, interfering in team selection and buying a nuclear K-19 submarine. He’s currently in rehearsals to star in his country’s version of Strictly Come Dancing.
  15. Hmmm. Both the outgoing chairman and the Administrator seem to be viewing going into admin as a positive way of attracting investment. Before I get trampled on, no doubt they are duty bound to be as upbeat as possible in the circumstances but at least they're not painting an "end is nigh" picture. Darlington enter administration The Quakers have struggled to attract fans to the Darlington Arena Darlington have officially announced they are entering administration. Dave Clark, of Brackenbury Clark and Company, has been appointed as administrator taking over the running of the club with immediate effect. "This is a sad day in the long history of Darlington Football Club," chairman George Houghton said of the decision in a club statement. "It was a result of a combination of circumstances compounded by the current economic recession." Houghton took over as chairman of the club in March 2006, following Stewart Morris in the role. However, the businessman, who made his fortune in property, says he hopes the club can find new ownership and believes they are in a good position to do so. "By appointing administrators at this time when the team is playing well, the club's management costs have been brought under control and the council is aware of the detailed planning case, I hope I have given the best possible opportunity to deliver the club into new ownership," he said. "I intend to support the administrators in this process and if any serious investors can be found I stand ready to continue my involvement and some investment as part of a consortium in order to keep professional football alive in Darlington." The club's new administrator Clark is equally positive of securing a new owner, given the current position of seventh in League Two and the assets surrounding the club. "This club has a long history in league football having been founded in 1883. My job as administrator is to affect a sale of this club to a new investor or consortium," he said. "The club has a number of advantages which in my view would make it attractive to an investor including a good manager with a history of securing promotion; a strong team currently on the edge of the play-off positions; a sound management team and loyal staff, and a stadium which would be the envy of most Championship clubs and some Premier League clubs. "Therefore I am confident that a new owner can be found for the club. "Despite owing significant sums to a number of creditors, the club enjoys a special relationship with its creditors and fans. I am confident that any new investor will enjoy a similar close working relationship." The Quakers will be docked 10 points under Football League rules, denting their push for promotion".

    share price

By the way....did someone buy 6 shares (c.£1) last week because they wanted to secure a seat and/or vote at an EGM? (if one were to take place in the future) Can't think of any other reason why someone would go to the trouble of buying a token number of shares.

Interesting first post Sir. Welcome to the message board.
  21. Didn't Crouch approach Lowe and Wilde on the day of the Ujpest game but was sent packing? (reading between the lines) That also happened to be the day that Poortvliet 'resigned'.....which no doubt was one big coincidence.... Jigsaw puzzlers of the world unite.
  22. Echo online front page now.... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/ Assume this is related to the Saints Trust piece?
