The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

S****horpe are in the League above Charlton. -
The Daily Echo's circulation has decreased significantly over the last 10-15 years(basically coinciding with the rise of the internet) and is continuing to fall. Local papers need clubs FAR more than clubs need local papers when they have so many other media outlets available to them compared to the 60's, 70's, 80's and early to mid 90's.
-
Is that a good or bad thing?
-
If the club didn't want the Echo to show the kit they just don't sell them the pictures. They don't need to wait until after they start going to print. If these were release 5 hours ago the paper couldn't just steal the photos from the website without Cortese's permission. You have turned it into a conspiracy theory.
-
Who's going to start the "Where is the away kit and goalkeepers kit" thread?
-
The photos it is based on has the sash both ways. This is due to it physically being separate from the white shirt. Thus some players in 1885 put it over one shoulder and some put it over the other shoulder. You'd think they would realise and be uniform.

Merry Christmas

At least with Wiki it has people that correct things if people make errors. With http://footballrumours.co.uk they just let it stay on the site

This website just puts lists of rumours that ANYONE in the world sends to them. It is the least reliable source for transfer information there is.
-
It was nothing to do with money etc He simply would have failed the medical at Southampton and they refused to offer him a long term contract with the clause that Brighton put in. From the Brighton OS Saints didn't want to sign a potentially crooked right back and then need to sign another one in January. Brighton did and have admitted as much with the clause.

Pompey have far more players than AA is willing to talk about in the press. The have an under 18 team for a start. All of which are eligible to play in the first team. Yes, they'd lose alot of games in the Championship, but no need to relax a transfer embargo when the club can use youngsters to make up the numbers.
-
The Ukraine is full of business corruption and dodgy dealings, little surprise AA has resorted to flogging the club to markets such as these with the situation so desperate. Just look at this chairman's past... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadim_Rabinovich I wonder if Rupert Lowe ever sold tanks to the Taliban? I don't think the Ukraine has particulary strong fit and proper persons tests!

Why have you not included yourself in the list? You do exactly what you accuse Nick G, Smirking Saint, Once Bitterne and myself of.
-
At least everyone is now fully prepared for no installment plan in 2011/12 and beyond.
-
You can't compare the two! - A car for most is required in every day life. - A season ticket for a football club is a luxury item and is not "needed" especially if you aren't in a healthy financial position. Just goto fewer games, you don't HAVE to goto all 23.
-
If you are "that" close to the limits of your bank account, a luxury item like a season ticket shouldn't be a priority - installment plan or not! You don't HAVE to goto every game. Just ration yourself with for example 8 home games per season until you are in the position to be able to afford the luxury of 23 games so it doesn't effect your financial health.
-
Someone that knows luxury items like season tickets for football clubs shouldn't be a priority if you have pressing money problems and buying one will only exacerbate the issues you have. I'm going to renew my season ticket shortly, but unlike some, I have been putting money aside over the last year ready to pay for it. It is really not hard to plan for. Yes, you may need to sacrifice other things in order to pay for it, but you need to prioritise.
-
No, the last thing people that are short of money should do is fork out hundreds of pounds on luxury items like season tickets for football clubs. Instead they should use that money to deal with improving their financial problems and instead of going to all 23 home games ration it out over a season and maybe goto 5 games for example. If you can't afford to pay upfront, then a season ticket isn't in your long term best interest. Learn to save!

What post 10? That is just a link to the homepage? Why is it referred to as the Saints Trust when it is clearly a Saints fan called Nick a few of mates? I think I'm going to start a fans group... "MLG's People's Front of Saints"
-
It isn't an Umbro kit and doesn't have the 125th anniversary badge on it gives an initial clue.
-
I don't think any Saints fan should be the "voice of the people", unless democratically elected from a large proportion of the fanbase. Yes, Nick is entitled to his views and if he has a problem with the ticketing he should contact the club privately. Not gain press attention claiming the Saints Trust is something it isn't - the voice of large numbers of Saints fans. I'm guessing you are in the Saints Trust? Can you or Nick answer the 8 questions I have laid out in this thread? 1) How many "active" members does the Saints trust claim to have? 2) How many elected officials does the Saints Trust have? 3) What makes them think they are the "voice of the fans" and are of significant importance to demand a meeting with Cortese? 4) Why does the Daily Echo persist in giving them an outlet to express their views and use them as a focal point for entire stories? 5 Does the Saints trust have a democratically elected leader/spokesperson? 6 How many people voted? 7 Who were the candidates in the election? 8 When did they vote? day/month/year

I can't believe I agree with Dune about something.
