The plan Pardew states the club is following makes far more sense than what others were calling for earlier in the summer. He set out to improve the full back positions and signed three(all three of which can play in other positions). He is now waiting to see who are the best possible players left out of 25 man squads in the Leagues above before swooping. If he had swooped sooner for player A, he may have missed out on the much better player B who became available when left out of the 25 man squad on 29th August for example.

How is that relevant? Saints were selling out a 15k ground and thus they needed to move to a bigger stadium. Pompey can't sell out a 20k ground, so why even need to move?

Saints had 24,061 for their first game after relegation from the Premier League and the game was live on Sky which puts people off coming.

I think this thread should be left open until the CVA is completed in 5 years time. Still plenty of milage in it yet if they fail to meet the terms of the CVA at any point.

You missed out the important bits of the quote, which says the plan Nicola/Markus made last year remain unaffected.

Well if Markus has (as the statement suggests) made a plan for the club with Cortese a year ago then it can't really be changed by him anymore. This plan will be followed through. As CanadaSaint suggests above it is probably structured how much money is made available each year.
