Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Matthew Le God replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
I was working through the changes in the FM online database and didn't bother checking the thread first when I found another released player. The club didn't make it easy and announce the full list which is annoying. So looks like 9 players released then!? 🤔 -
Uncanny! I was doing exactly that!

Teddy Davey is another who has been released. -
Players turn down transfers on FM all the time because they don't want the transfer. Messi for example would not even enter contract discussions with Pompey for example, even if a bid was accepted by PSG.

Gareth Southgate was also in Saints youth set-up in the 1980s and was released. -

Why do you think we are currently run poorly? His name is Semmens, not the tech company Siemens. -
A look of disapproval as the restaurants prefer you to give the money to the waiters

If Saints sold Ward-Prowse for £70m to Man Utd and added the vast majority of that money to their transfer pot and spent it on some quality players that improved the starting XI... would that still equal having 'no ambition'?
-
Long's wife has denied him being offered a new deal. Cabellero as 3rd choice for 1 more season is hardly a bad move. Have you seen the list of 3rd choice kerpers at other PL clubs, including the top ones? What kind of keeper do you think would be willing to be 3rd choice?
-
It would be a very big hole to fill. But in a situation where he did go for huge money, would you not at least wait and see who replaced him before writing off the season?
-
They probably will at some point in the coming years, but do you think Newcastle are going to be offering wages of £200k+ to players this summer? 🤔

It was a Coles/Coals to Newcastle 'joke' Performance analysts moving between clubs can require a fee.
-
Will they look to then sell him to Newcastle?

Saints already have a mascot, they don't need to pay Shane Long tens of thousands of pounds to be another one...

Yes, some under 18s leaving make the list even longer. I wish the club just announced them all as they normally do. It is a pain to work out the full list for FM23! -

I don't recall saying it hadn't happened, I just wondered if it had been done why it then wasn't announced at the time by the club.
