  1. Looking like Frazer Richardson was the biggest clue.
  2. Adkins and Saints fans have witnessed on many occasions Puncheon, Lallana and Chamberlain first hand. It is quite clear which are the better two players. Your statement of "Puncheon can be deemed by Warnock to do a job in the Prem now why isnt your manager not playing him instead of Chamberlain" has little logic to it. How do you know that if offered a choice between Puncheon and Chamberlain that Warnock wouldn't choose Chamberlain? Warnock simply wouldn't be able to sign Chamberlain as he doesn't have the budget. I think however it is very likely Warnock would prefer Chamberlain, he just doesn't have the luxury Adkins does of being in a position of having both players and picking the best one to start a game.
  3. What point are you actually trying to make? - Puncheon played lots of games for Saints in 2009/10 in League One from January until May - Puncheon did well in a short spell in the Championship with Millwall - Puncheon did well in a short spell in the Premier League with Blackpool Adkins will be fully aware that Puncheon has the ability to perform at all three levels. Saints are currently in the Championship, yet Adkins wants to sell him because Chamberlain and Lallana are better. That does not mean Adkins doesn't think Puncheon couldn't do a good job for another Championship or Premier League team, in fact I think it is very likely Adkins thinks Puncheon would do a good job at Premier League or Championship level. The act or merely selling Puncheon doesn't prove Adkins doesn't think this, nor does it prove it. In the same way selling Gorkss doesn't mean Warnock thinks he couldn't do a job at Premier League level.
  4. Still missing the point I'm making. That doesn't mean Warnock thinks he couldn't play in the Premier League for someone else or even Q.P.R. under different circumstances. Numerous other factors are involved as I outlined earlier. Simply him selling him doesn't prove what Warnock thinks of his ability to be "Premier League standard".
  5. Puncheon played a very high % until Chamberlain broke through. Puncheon was still good enough for League One, the Championship and Premier League though (just not Saints starting XI).
  6. Yes, he might not want him in his squad, but that doesn't prove one way or another that he doesn't think he is good enough for the Premier League. Other factors such as budgets, versatility of other players, restricted to a 25 man squad for players over 21 etc etc all play a part.
  7. It is not me failing to grasp a concept. A manager selling a player doesn't not mean he thinks he couldn't do a good job at that level. Saints are selling Puncheon and Mills, they both played in the Championship last season and did well. By selling them it doesn't mean Adkins doesn't think they can do a job in the Championship. Just that he has other plans for his squad.
  8. That still doesn't prove Warnock doesn't think Gorkss is good enough for the Premier League.
  9. Stop with the ill-informed crap then. You were using something against Gorkss, when it was simply ********.
  10. His promotion with Blackpool was from League One to the Championship, and in any case he wasn't deemed "not good enough for Blackpool in the Championship", he played for a season at Blackpool in the Championship and then they sold him to a bigger Championship club.
  11. One manager - Warnock. Also doesn't necessarily mean Warnock doesn't think he is good enough, just he has other priorities for his squad.
  12. Puncheon has been heavily linked to the Gorkss deal in the past. I would say discussing his merits is relevant to this thread as there is still a possibility his Saints future may be linked directly or indirectly to any deal for Gorkss.
  13. Look back at every post I have made in this thread (including the first), and you will see they are all on topic with the posts they follow.
  14. What would you say it is then?
  15. All three were competing for the same positions. The wide midfielder roles in a 442. Puncheon lost out because Lallana and Chamberlain are better in the role, a role which is Puncheon's natural position.
  16. So you would drop one of the highest rated English prospects from third tier matches, in order to play Puncheon? As I said earlier, I think Puncheon is a good player, I just think Lallana and Chamberlain are much better. If it were Chamberlain or Lallana on loan at Millwall and Blackpool last season, I think you would have seen even more impressive performances from them at that the respective levels compared Puncheon.
  17. If Puncheon can make a mark in the Premier League, do you not think Lallana could? Lallana is clearly the better player of the two. The quality of Chamberlain and Lallana was the main reason Puncheon was loaned out. His alleged unprofessionalism is likely to have been a result of having to play second fiddle to a talented 17 year old and not able to start games in the third tier.
  18. So which of Chamberlain or Lallana would you have dropped to a League One substitute bench in order to accommodate Puncheon in the starting eleven? I'm not saying Puncheon is a bad player, he clearly isn't. But Chamberlain and Lallana are both better, I'm surprised you think otherwise.
  19. If Puncheon can do reasonably well in the Premier League, do you not think Lallana and Chamberlain could? After all, they were the ones keeping Puncheon out of the Saints team. Cork has already shown he can do well in the Premier League in a brief time there. I think Schneiderlin and Fonte would also do well.
  20. Because he said... "we don't appear to be looking further than promotion this time around" Keeping Chamberlain, Fonte and Schneiderlin at the club, signing Lallana on a new long term contract and signing Jack Cork, all indicate looking long term towards a possible Premier League future. Keeping your best players can be just as important as signing new ones.
  21. Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Chamberlain and Fonte all have a good chance of playing in the Premier League in the future. That is five players to get started with...
  22. How have you managed to switch this around? It was you that claimed Jemal was the "only player on Saints radar", not me. I haven't a clue who Saints are trying to buy, have on any shortlist/radar etc etc. You however implied that you do.
  23. "Expecting" and "definitely said that there would definitely be another signing before the Leeds game", are two very different things. You made a statement, "At the time Jemal was the only player on Saints radar". A fan not being aware of a clubs transfer activity, does not mean he is the only player on the clubs radar.
  24. No he didn't. If he did I'd like you to show me where he did, because I think you have just made that up. Secondly how do you know "Jemal was the only player on Saints radar"? I think that is extremely unlikely.
