Bit harsh on Shroppie?
-
Something doesn't add up: either Gao has totally handed day to day control to Ralph/Les (why would you do that?) or Gao is quite happy to go down and thinks he can rinse his 200m through the Championship. #fishy

Pass the crack pipe, is there a manager in world football* that could get our unfit under-performing misfits 11 points in those 8 games? *a manager that would come to little old Southampton for a two month contract.

Guido Carrillo - Official: Free Transfer to Elche

Give him a season in the Championship to get acclimatised and I reckon he could quite be useful in League 1. -
Not really sleep walking though is it? More like hiding in plain sight. I called it last year after the B'mouth H game, 0-0 and going nowhere, I stood up in Block 36 and said we are going down, I was shouted down by a few, then added not this season you (expletives deleted), it's next season that we're nailed on for relegation. I just had a feeling last season that we had lost our mojo and that the black box seemed to have become a virus-laden curse since Mitchell left. Hate to say I told you so and I would never bet against Saints but fair play to those that got on at 25-1,12-1,6-1 etc.

Hopefully West Ham will be docked 10 points!
-
West Ham mustn't worry too much. it's their turn to look like world beaters next week.

very good.

Remember where you were when you read this, it might be quite some time till you see it again.

Bit nearer to the team people wanted now? PEH tick, 2 up front tick, Simms tick, JWP delivery to Carillo tick, pace(Long) tick, no Romeu tick. Probably it's all a bit too little too late now but a bit pointless people *****ing about Lemina who by all accounts had a shocking first half. Silk purse, sows ear.
-
68%possession according to 5Live but I haven't heard Carillo touch the ball yet. Have we had a shot?
-
Score 2 to win and keep the backdoor shut for 89 mins? It's big ask now.

perfecct,

Anybody take a point now?

Why do people put themselves through this? Choose life! I'm probably 12 months ahead of the curve but I jacked in my STs this season and I don't regret it one bit. Saints born and bred, fourth generation, I've put in the hard yards to support us home and away through thick and thin, loads of thin but plenty of good times too. For all the reasons posted elsewhere I just don't see it as a good use of my time/money at the moment. I still follow the club day to day, log in here every day, watch when we are on telly, but I wouldn't spend Sat afternoon watching a stream (I put in a 300 mile round trip last season probably 17 times to watch some utter dross, I think I ended up seeing less than a goal a game). Last straw for me was the Man City H game last year; got chatting to some PL tourist type fans outside, they had bought tickets on Ticketmaster for £95 ...! Mobile phones, tupperware picnics, kids with signs for oppo shirts, schitt atmosphere, players with zero loyalty, families in leisure wear, tedious corporate branding, complete lack of a sporting contest on the pitch or in the league tables, 14 teams playing not to go down, absent owners. I now do other stuff with my time and money. I don't need a ST, if Wigan goes to general sale I'll go, if it doesn't I'll pocket my 100 pounds and watch it on telly, if we get to a cup final I'll take my chance on db history or pay what it takes.

Top five positives about saints at the moment.
sandwichsaint replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
Not sure you can say number 3 is 'likely'; it's certainly 'possible' but our opponents have beaten B'mouth, West Ham and Man City and have the fewest goals conceded across any of the top 4 leagues. They have beaten PL opposition 3 times out of 3 this season, we have done the same 7 times out of 31, I think. If we play to win we would have a decent chance, if we play not to lose we are IMHO unlikely to win. -
Don't see PEH, JWP or Redmond playing in the championship next season.
-
Think you need to have another look at that table. We have 1 or 2 (away) games in hand and are picking up just shy of a point an (away) game and with a decent GD, our away form has us somewhere around 8th/9th/10th ... just about exactly where most people perceive our squad, managed and coached properly should be in the real league table. Our current predicament is 99% down to our woeful home form.
-
Just confirms, our home form (home tactics?) is killing us.
-
Anybody know the Italian European game, it was a 16-00/17-00 kick-off where tkts were literally free? Tried to google it but can't find anything, from about 3-4 years ago?
-
Curse of the commenter - it's going to be 2-2 and pens now; just got ML 'the keeper could have thrown his cap on it'. Have to watch to the bitter end now.
-
Anybody watching Swansea v Sheff Wed on the beeb? Just wandered in after watching some cycling on Eurosport, it's like wandering into a third world country! Schitt product, schitt production, schitt commentator, and Mark chuffing Lawrenson ... hard to believe this is on what we olds used to call 'peak time' TV. Netflix and very chilly.

FA Cup Qtr Final Saints v Wigan or Man City AWAy
sandwichsaint replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Saints
Ask yourself if the TV companies would choose Wigan v West Brom, Wigan v Bournemouth or Wigan v Swansea over a game involving Spurs or Man U or Chelsea? In football-fan land we may be the most intriguing tie but TV land is a very different place. Can safely say we will be fourth TV pick.
