Back to the movie names.... The Borrowers - a story of liitle people, with little brains, who borrow things. Another 48 hours - Admin Andy stars in this tense thriller that keeps you hanging on, and on, and on.... Dirty Harry - Redknapp's back to tear up the rule book. For a few dollars more - A must see movie, you must see it before it disappears forever. One flew over the cloud cuckoo's nest - If you thought the original was based in a mental hospital, wait until you see the sequel.

Win on Monday and we are top. Don't win on Monday and we are second. In an automatic promotion slot. Happy days.....

good points, well made. but to add to it, the Golden Share is worthless as it is explicitly non-transferable. Otherwise me and my mates could buy it and start playing professional football.. bagsy in nets...

I am entirely with you. Start throwing the Companies Act rule book at a few Directors within football and the game will change.... I cannot for the life of me, understand why football seemingly operates under a different guidance to the rest of us...

Just for clarification, not that this site needs it, but the Board at Fratton Park obviously do.. Lifted from http://www.companyrescue.co.uk If the company IS insolvent and if the board of the company continues to trade whilst it is insolvent, the directors of the company may become personally liable to contribute to the company's assets and help meet the deficit to unsecured creditors if the company's financial position is made worse by the directors continuing to trade, instead of putting the company immediately into liquidation. In other words that veil of incorporation can be lifted and the directors’ protection removed. Then you may face wrongful trading accusations and possibly even directors disqualification The site offer a few testers as to whether or not your company is insolvent. This is the first one. Simply - can the company pay its debts when they fall due for payment? I'm not sure if corporate finances could ever be more black and white...

Two things I would like to see by 10am Monday morning. The Football League Board to announce a meeting for this coming week to discuss PFC's relationship with CSI and whether or not points deductions are now appropriate. More importantly, I want HMRC to phone Lampett and remind him that if he is continuing to trade, whilst acknowledging that there is no cash to pay the bills, then it is his house that will be sold and put in the pot with other company assets, for the benefit of all creditors....

I agree with you. I think they have allowed the administrator to be soooooo clever, that it has created such a tangled web of masked ownership and legal agreements that nobody can quickly understand what they are potentially buying. Generally people with multi-millions to throw at an investment don't act in haste and want the legal reassurance that they are buying some worth what they're paying for it. This is no longer possible at PFC, so their list of potential suitors diminishes very quickly. Toast, hopefully, soon

I had a wet dream about my boss once. He got knocked over by a bus and I ****ed myself laughing.....

And so their work was done. Bagpuss gave a big yawn and settled down to sleep And, of course, when Bagpuss goes to sleep, All his friends go to sleep too. The blue few were figments of our imagination. Sacha and Balram were just dolls. Administrator Andrew was a carved, wooden bellend in the shape of a wooden pecker. Even Bagpuss himself, once he was asleep, was just an old, saggy skate ****, Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams, But Milan loved him

This is just so frustrating. The club is trading without the means to pay their obligations due in the next two weeks..... Trying to find a buyer is not a reason to keep trading. They are freeking insolvent. Appoint an adminstrator, immediately, or the Directors are failing in their fiduciary duties. If AA is in charge, then I think he is dicing way too close to the edge of the lake this time around. He has an obligation given his role and his knowledge to pull the plug as well. I can't believe Lampitt is letting this continue. Just get it over with.

This only makes sense if there are numerous creditors who happen to be owed as much as Chanrai. But, if the club owes £30m and Chanrai's owed £20m of it, then the liquidation process is going to return to him 2/3rds of the liquidation proceeds, less AA's fees. I would expect AA to negotiate player registration sales as part of any liquidation, so you've got to fancy liquidation would result in a pretty easy £10-£20m. Of course, I could be miles out with how much of a creditor Chanrai is, but if I was Chanrai and someone offered me £1, I would liquidate the club. Unless I am missing something?

please, please, please can it be liquidation.... The absolute joy of WHU losing 6 points to our 1 would make these past few years all worthwhile...

Baby number one, we tip-toed around, turned the telly down, hushed guests etc., she's now 7 and a very light (dare I say bad) sleeper. Baby number two, we did what we would have done normally, hoovered during the the baby's afternoon nap, telly on, friends over no probs, she's now 6 and sleeps like a drunkard. I think rule number 1 with babies (which you dont appreciate at the time), is do what makes you (and mummy) feel comfortable, and baby will be comfortable. I think the only thing that we avoided for both the girls was mum and dad being completely legless on the same evening. Someone has got to get up and deal with nappies. Nature has a way there...... Enjoy it. You and your other half are entirely responsible for the welfare of another human being, everything else you're doing has just become secondary... :-)

I'll have an insolvent please Bob

That's an interesting point. If they are found guilty of tax evasion, where does this sit in the league's rules regarding "irregular or illegal payments to players/agents/staff ?" Presumably it doesn't get much more irregular than a Court finding your owner & Chairman guilty of paying people without paying due taxes?
-
Assuming that Chanrai's latest installment of £1m was to cover January wages, then they will be trading whilst insolvent as of 1st February, as they will be incurring payroll liabilities with no way of paying for them.

Kin-ell you lot of I T feckin K ers only just stumbled upon this line of thought, ever since Chanrai snatched us by default its not the well being of PFC on his agenda. Just the 4 year shell out by the prem, The fist statement from him was (i will be putting nowt in) and apart from the odd wage packet hes been true to his word. I'll give it a go.... "F**king hell, you lot of 'in the f**king knowers' ! Have you only just stumbled upon this line of thought? Ever since Mr Chanrai siezed control, due to a missed payment by the chappy he sold the business to, he is not primarily concerned with the fortunes of Portsmouth Football Club. He is only interested in the 4 year (slightly unusual) parachute payment schedule, due from the premier league. The comment from Mr Chanrai which confirmed this was, "I will not be spending any more of my money on them" * Which apart from the occassional Shareholder's Loan, used in order to pay the wages of the employees, has been true. *Translation based on an assumption that the "fist statement from him was", should have read, "first statement from his was". Of course, if it was correct "fist statement from him was" should be translated as; The comment from Mr Chanrai which confirmed he wants to put his entire forearm up the back passage that is PFC. HTH :-)

20 games to go, 40 more points needed
ooh it's a corner replied to Ian the Red's topic in The Saints
not in the past 10 seasons there hasn't http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalLeagueTable/0,,10794~20027,00.html 85 points will do it for me. 11 wins, 2 draws, 7 losses. Home and hosed. (i hope) -

Good point, well made, but doesn't make a lot of difference if you apply it to the above. What is interesting though, is couting back from last season, third placed teams have scored, 80, 79, 80, 75, 84 points. So 84 points and a better goal difference should do it for us, or call it 85 to be on the safe side. Andy's OP said 81 to 85 points and I can't argue with that. -
I didn't reply immediately, but come on, enough's enough. It's about time you apologised for that one...... ;-)

Forest 0 - 3 Saints Post Match Reaction
ooh it's a corner replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
hats off to whoever posted the stream link on the match thread. I really enjoyed that. Cracking performance in keep the football. Patient and lots of movement, we looked back to our best with that sort of showing (and let's not forget that is without Lambert and Fonte). top, top performance, albeit against a poor Forest side. -

Assuming that we haven't yet received all of that £15m, then you could argue that £7m went to pay off last year's losses, with the other half earmarked for this year's losses? I would give Cortese due credit not to lead us to ruin, because he has a financial/banking background and there's no way people with that experience gamble resulting in economic strife..... oh...... -
If the rumours are to be believed then we have offered some serious money to secure players this January. But £6m ? Really ? We have been consistant with our slating of the Blue Few for idly lapping up the success that their over-extravagance bought. With nobody questioning "at what cost?" to the financial stability these players were bought, and retained. Yet here we all are, egging the club on to spend a record fee....desperately trying to cling on to top spot.... Naturally, I would love it, love it, if we get promoted this year, and it is impossible to think that we could ever be in a better position to do so, but are we starting the slippery slope to financial ruin once again? IIRC our turnover in the year we got relegated from this division was just £14m. IF it's going to be a similar figure to that this year, can we really afford to spend £6m on one player? I know we have some wonga behind us, but at what point should we question it? Or do we just sit back, idly lapping up the success, looking forward to joining 500,000 for the city parade on the Common?
